Well after much dissapointment at seeing various attempts at a Equilibrium-based mod fail, I have decided to take matters into my own hands and help create one. Me & another young lad from my city, have decided to collaborate our efforts to bring you the ultimate Equilibrium showdown from the movie. **Note: you will need Max Payne 2 to be able to play this**Here are some pics of the mod in its very early stages: At this stage, all we have is the map....but I'm currently chasing up some Preston & Sweeper skins that I know exist. Other things which will I'm hoping to be included in the final version of the mod: - Weapons from the movie:- Grammaton Cleric Berettas, G36's, etc - Tetragrammaton shaped muzzle flashes. - Sound FX/music from the film. - Basic gun-kata animations & firing modes. - Equilibrium inspired menus - Plus a few other little things here & there. Actually, I was hoping for some help in the menu department from a few of the regs here (especially Father), so if you think you can create a kick ass pic for the mod then go for it! I will post up some more specifics (like resolution, layout, etc) later.... So stay tuned to this thread for more info.

You know, I was just thinking that Max Payne 2 would be an excellent platform to construct an EQ mod for.
I am, however, having difficulty envisioning how you could accurately portray and have the player execute the awesomeness of the Gun Katas. Maybe I just don't have a good enough imagination, but I can't think of a way to accurately and effectively implement such a feature.

Maybe I just don't have a good enough imagination, but I can't think of a way to accurately and effectively implement such a feature. Hence my use of the word "basic" before "gun-kata". It won't be accurate, but it will be better than no gun-kata at all. You are just going to have to trust me on this one....

Thanks Ona, but I didn't make the level - the young lad I'm working with is the talented individual who made the map.
I have another person who has started on Preston skin & its looking pretty good at this stage...he also will be doing the Sweepers (which he'd already created for Max Payne 1) & the weapons and they are looking good as well.
And I may take you up on that offer for a website GreyFox...why don't you have a crack at whipping something up if you get a spare minute here or there & show it to me?
More updates soon.

Cheers Father & Pyro!
Actually I wonder if anyone on these boards is into animation (esp using 3D Studio Max)....I have a guy who is pretty confident at coding a gun-kata system, but he needs animations of the various gun-kata stances to be able to get started on it.
Anyone here that can do that? I can get you the "bones" of the character to animate with....
And Father, check your PM.

Waaaaaaay ahead of you, Fusion. There hasn't been a heap of progress on the mod of late but there has been a few bits and pieces here and there. One of which is putting in a black Cleric outfit as an unlockable extra once you've finished it on the hardest setting. Plus Father & I have been in conference about making some menu art for the mod & as usual, his stuff is amazing. I'll let him offer up the piccies as Wallpapers once we get close to releasing the mod.

Better yet, I will make a wallpaper for this MOD. Anyway, it's looking sooooo freakin' excellent - it's the closest you ever gonna get to a actual Equilibrium game - I mean look at the backgrounds, the guards, the lights and ofcoarse Preston himself... Absolute Marvelous!

Because it would spoil the fun of trying the game for the first time...
