Update: Mr. Anderson has quit the team for an indefinite amount of time due to personal issues. I'm very sad to hear that & hope that he is OK!! I'll be sure to mention your continuing work on this on my front page with a link to a few for your pictures. I'll do it in the next few days. Is the website still up??

I've been thinking about what to do for christmas as far as HoM is concerned for a while. Finally, after a while of thinking about I came up with a little contest.
Seeing as the mod could be reaching completion very soon I'll be needing a few people to help us beta test the gameplay and the mod in general so here's the deal:
- One beta spot will go to whoever can make the best Hall of Mirrors promotional poster. Your imagination is the limit, you may use any media the team has already released to build your poster, as well as anything else you can think of that doesn't infringe on copyright too much.
- Another beta spot will go to the person who submits the best "banner" for us to place on our publicity screenshots. If you don't know what I'm talking about I will clear it up a bit more, the banner is what you see saying the mod name in the corner of our screenshots. The past banners have been made by either me or Mr. A but I'm sure you guys can come up with much better stuff than that!
But wait, there's more!
- There will be an extra spot left for the person who can make us the best bink video trailer, which may also be showcased as the mod's intro video as well as being listed in the credits!
The reason the third spot will be held off until a bit later is because I plan to put out a few gameplay videos showing the gun-kata system in action very soon, as soon as all our last animations are finished to be exact. These gameplay videos can then be used to make the trailer, as well as any other additional media you can imagine.
There is no limit to how many submissions you can make, however, only one spot will be granted per person. Just post the submissions in this thread.
Deadline: January 30th, 2005.
So what are you waiting for? Get cracking on those submissions!

Small update, the video media I promised is here. There will be more released in the future quite possibly, but here's something you can use for the trailer (this is also your first look at the mod in action!) "Here's the first promotional video for HoM. It's a simple gameplay clip showing off some gun-kata, you may use this video clip for the creation of your trailer entry. There may be additional videos released later on. Edit: Arg... Just saw attachment limit is 250 kb. I submitted the file to L4Y but I don't expect them to put it up for download until 3 days from now. Does anyone have any other quick hosting I can use for a video? It's rather small, 2MB or so. (DivX codec required) **** www.putfile.com/media.php?n=gunkata1I found a place able to host the video but it's not downloadable... so, for those interested in a sneak peek into the first piece of video media released for HoM, go ahead and knock yourselves out. I'm looking forward to seeing more entries, I haven't really gotten many at all yet. "

As promised, here's more of the video media I was talking about. This is actually a gameplay video I recorded on one of my playthroughs recently. It shows a few of the moves in action, not all of them though Enjoy it. As with the video before it, you can use this video for the HoM trailer contest. www.filefront.com/?filepath=/mpdev/HoM_Gameplay.zip (Divx 5.1 codec required!Go to www.divx.com for details if you don't already have it)

Hey everyone, I know I am new, but I have been watching this mod for a while, and I must say, it looks amazing. That video posted before blew me away. I never expected a mod like that. Anyways, in response to the the call for a banner for publicity screenshot, I made one(and a few variations), and I hope you like it They are all uploaded HereTell me what you think! EDIT at 1-26-05, 9:35pm EST. I forgot to add, I retain full ownership over the images and have the right to pursue litigation against person/persons for unauthorized use of those images, if you would like to use one of the images, feel free to email me, or PM me.Blah...Blah...Blah.... Obviously, anyone on The Hall of Mirrors Team may use those pictures. © lessthanadam

Competition was extended to Feb. 10 due to technical problems in one of the servers storing some of the submissions on another forum. I wanted to give people a fair chance to resubmit their creations before the deadline was over. Hope you us the time wisely Submit here or through my email address.

Something you'll learn about the game design industry, especially modders that try to follow the same rules we use: It'll be done when it's done, no amount of asking/pushing/whining will make anyone respond with anything different.
It annoys the living daylights out of me to such an extent that I have actually extended dates/deadlines and so on just to irritate people that continually pressure and ask for a date.
Be patient and you'll be rewarded.
Take it from a professional game developer, the best way to get information is to wait for it.

But can you tell me a date or something??? Unfortunately, we can't. There are many things done, but others left to do. You must understand that we'd rather don't tell any dates than to give ones and to not respect the delay. Exactly ! Please follow this advice. Don't worry, we will announce it when it's done.

I lost count Corwin, over the last couple of years how many times a company I've worked for has been harassed over a particular project.
You get used to it in the end, stick to your guns amigo.

Will do, thanks for the advice ! By the way, I am pretty curious, may I ask you what kind of job you use to do ? (Or what job you were doing in this company). Is this in relation with your writing talent ? Any game design related information usually catch my interest, but please don't feel forced to answer, I would surely understand if you want to keep it quiet.
