some one was talking earlyer about the secreat element in music that makes you love a film, and it's really real i felt that feeling in The Island, EQ, The Lord of the Rings and alot of other movies. I agree! Just as actors play characters in films...music too is another character which adds volumes. I enjoyed The Island, along with its direction, cinematography, etc...plus it had beautiful music! Michael Bay's films always seem to have great music!

Did anyone notice the guard shifting his weight during the "mental" line.

The Crow is another example of a great score (and great soundtrack).

Man by the looks of this trailer for UV, this movie will have the largest death count of any movie ever made!! Looks like even more then Saving Private Ryan, and I know theres a few more that have huge death tolls

I really like the opening score for The Island. Yeah, me too. I really love the ending song called "My Name is Lincoln." Brilliant! It sounds a hint (just a small hint) like Gladiator's "Now We Are Free," which is another brilliant piece. I'm listening to it right now . Hans Ziimmer, Steve Jablonsky and anybody who has some kind of relation to Media Ventures, are great composers IMO. Speaking of Gladiator, I really want to get the 3-disc version! Did anyone notice the guard shifting his weight during the "mental" line. About the guy shifting his weight, I noticed that he steps forward when he starts to shoot. I love how he's wearing white gloves. I don't know why. It reminds me of a Cleric perhaps ? I seriously need to stop watching the trailer . I'm noticing way too many things (i.e. stunt double (possibly), etc. I'll just TRY to patiently wait for the movie to get released .

Most of us? I wouldn't think that anyone would have seen it yet. Actually we have a few people who post here off and on who have seen the test screenings for UltraViolet. They might know but I have not seen them around here in sometime.

It's unlikey there was a stunt double, Miller usally does all her stunts. There have been times when MY did not do all of her stunts. Check out Resident Evil 2: Apocolypse behind the scenes videos and the Fifth Element Ultimate Edition DVD (I might be mistaken about Fifth Element?? It could be another movie. I can't remember at the moment) . Also, go frame by frame in the UV trailer (during the 11 second mark/11 seconds into the trailer) and look at her face, specifically when she's hitting the men in black with all the glass shattering. I only noticed the possible stunt double by accident. I paused the trailer, then when I came back to it, I went 'hmmm'.

I sent the link to the HD trailer to a discussion list shared by a bunch of local friends, and got the following reply:
"That movie is going to be like warm sex pushed over the back of a '57 chevy!"

I don't want to bash anyone, but honestly, if you have watched the trailer that amount of times to notice stunt doubles and extras in the background shifting their weight then it's time for you to take an axe to your internet cable and end your criticizing misery! I mean c'mon the trailer is just suposed to give a brief understanding of what the movie is about. UV trailer does this while looking insanely awsome. You shouldn't try and figure out what the whole movie is about by simply watching the trailer.

Have patience and wait for UV to explode into theaters. In the mean time, watch Equilibrium...

Okay,a few things.
- Yes, there is one guard behind Nick Chinlund that shifts his/her weight as Chinlund utters his now famous "are you mental" line. I think that is filmmaking perfection. Call me insane for defending it, but tell I'll you why. There is a reason why Daxus (Chinlund) and the whole establishment needs to gather 300 guards to fight one woman. Intimidation and deterrence, which not necessarily means confrontation and most of the times means avoiding one. So, the fact that they have to get so many is because (whether they admit it or not) they are afraid of one opponent, more intimidated than Violet, regardless of how many they are 'cause they have seen her in action. They are not entirely secure and they want to appear confident at all costs and remain cool and intimidating. I think it is visual perfection that one guard can't hold back the fear and this wall of pretension and superior force cracks for a single moment, ironically as his/her boss (Daxus) asks Violet "we are too many for you, you will lose". As they say, one lose link is all you need for a chain to break. Yes, this could have been a background actor standing there for too long and having to shift the f**** weight after the 20th take but it is perfection if you choose to look at it as I explained it above. The reason why I support this is because in a prior scene as other guards arrive at running speed into a room and when they see Violet and they hesistate and try to stop. In fact they stop so suddently that they slide for a couple of extra feet. Of course, then they charge but there is a moment of doubt, and a moment of doubt is defeat. The same thing for the guy shifting his weight.
- About the stunts. Let's give the stunt girl some credit. There is no reason to think less of MIlla because of the use of stunts. Jennifer Caputo is a fantastic stunt woman with awesome credits. Give to God what's God's and Ceasar what's Ceasar's.
- I did see an actor/stunt named Mark Hicks in two split seconds. First, right behind Nerva as Nerva tell Violet "only you could have pulled this off" and then fighting with Milla at the end, with the swords inthe dark room. This suggests to me that he plays a Henchman for Nerva. More than just a stunt. Maybe the imdb credit on him as a Hospital Guard is wrong; they are never 100% correct.
lastly, many frames or sometimes entire scenes in a trailer DON'T make it to the theatrical version. So we may or may not see what we saw in the trailer.
23 days to go. If it indeed opens on Feb 24.

eqextremist... I hope that analysis was sarcasm in response to schuby's post...cause that was a little extreme. And I study film theory.

I have also watched the trailer a bit. There is a flash frame of a wider shot on the HD trailer that shows milla & a guy (possibly Nick Chinlund) going at it with the flaming swords after the close up on the flaming crosed swords towards the end.
You can't see it watching it normally (and I am always picking out flashframes out of things), but I was going through this section frame by frame with the right cursor key & noticed it.

eqextremist... I hope that analysis was sarcasm in response to schuby's post...cause that was a little extreme. And I study film theory. It is not only an utterly unnecessary waste of resources for you to hope my statements are this or that, but it also defeats the purpose of having a forum for the sharing of views and information not to make your post more didactic, instead of what it appears to be a comment with no immediate resonance and an evident absence of depth of any measure. Challenge the information in my post, Bring matter for discussion or simply Disregard my posts if they are not of your liking or if they only inspire in you reptilian and obtuse rhetoric or the egotistical impulse to publisize what academic subject matter you seem to be receiving instruction currently. Now, Kaiser, that is sarcasm, and that is extreme too. And it is not what my original statement was. My statement had information and was in no way an attack to anyone. It is not my MO and I have no time, no blood for that. I am, above all, a vegetarian.

What I said was simply for your own benefit. I mean if you watch the trailer a thousand times, your going to be board when you watch UV in the theaters! Cause you will have seen half of the major stunts and scenes a thousand times. The movies FX just won't appeal to you anymore. Once again... Have patience, I wish there was a confirmed date as to when it's being released.

alright guys, let not get too excited the movie isnt even out yet and were getting bent up over the trailer!
btw, did any one notice the new symbols for the reigme?
one looks like a cross [red and white], another a standard biohazard and radioactive symbol [yellow and black, on end of the filter of the gas mask and on the shoulder of the super soldiers]

One Question
Why would they bother with a building that is shaped exactly like a biohazzard symbol?

I got another question?
Why do the troops have glass armour? That shaters?
I'm not bagging the film, it's just a question.
