Hearing the sweepers and the Clerics drive their cars and trucks down the road in the Outer Netherlands, Ryssa could still hear the echoes of the noisy rumbling vehicles as they made their way down the eerily, still and quiet roads towards the Inner Netherlands where a bunch of as yet-uncaptured Rebels still made their living, albeight, illegally with their hidden stores, caches and storage areas of forbidden materials.
Ryssa, was a sixteen year old girl with shoulder length cherry red hair with strawberry highlights that stood out like a neon sign during the daylight hours, which was why she would put her hair into a ponytail to slip a cap over her brightly colored hair. She stood at a height of 5'8" and had dark green almost malachite color eyes and wore a brownish grey tunic with blackish brown trews and dark black boots to help her match her surroundings easier.
Her temperament matched her hair quite well as she was a slightly sullen girl and didn't trust others or newcomers very easily or quickly. She kept her feelings close to her heart and guarded them as if she was playing a game of poker, but this game had much higher stakes than a normal poker card game did. She was very reserved and aloof to the point of being almost cold. The others in their little family group nicknamed her the Ice Princess, but they really couldn't blame her as she was only a ten year old little girl still in the tender years of being a child, not yet reaching her adult years when the Clerics had come with their Sweepers and taken an older member, who was like a parental figure to her away in their car to be processed after destroying everything that Mara had held dear.

Nicely begun ... a good vivid character and situation drawn in a few strokes. You have the first two gifts of a writer, which are the ability to visualise and the ability to transfer your vision into words. Awaiting more! Too bad, almost, that the cause of justice will require that she be apprehended and incinerated.

Once the vehicles made a turn down another side street, Ryssa released the breath that she'd been holding in and made her way from her hiding spot to a tunnel that would take her directly from the surface to a maze of tunnels that led to the living/working area where Christoph, a chemist who used to work for the Government, making the Prozium that kept the citizens in a mindless fog.
He'd joined them after he, himself, became a marked Sense Offender and realized that he couldn't stay in the City any longer not without fear of giving himself away to another chemist or a Cleric.
Christoph was an older man, roughly in his mid thirties to late fourties, with brown and silvery colored hair. He was considered one of the Uncles in the group and was given the respect as such. He was one of the many Elders in the group who'd been there for Ryssa when she needed it.
"Hey, Christoph. How're things going?" Ryssa said calling out to him to allow her voice to reach him before she did since there were a few times when she was younger that she'd walk up to him and forget that he'd 'disappear' into his work and not meaning to would startle him, causing him to jump and literally drop what he'd been working on down on the ground, causing him to have to start his project all over again.
"Hey yourself, Rys. Everything's going good so far." He replied to her, his blue eyes meeting her green ones as he briefly looked up from one of his latest experiments on changing the chemical coloring and make-up of the Prozium that the Clerics and his own co-workers lived on.
"I think that's almost ready to be used, but to make sure I'll need to capture a couple of Clerics who are *already* on the normal version to be completely sure that it'll work." He told her, a serious tone in his voice. "For that, Rys, I'll need to borrow both you and Twilight to use as bait." He said knowing how dangerous this plan would be, both to the two girls and their living arrangement. "I wouldn't ask this of you, dearheart, you know that but there's really no other way."
"Alright, Christoph. We'll do it. Lady knows, Twi wants to see some action as she's been asking me when she could help with something. Besides, I owe it to the Pipsqueak anyway." She said a warm, teasing tone entering her voice whenever she thought of her little sister. "By the way, I happened to notice another caravan of Sweepers and cars prolly full of Clerics heading down another road in the Outer Nethers. Lady only knows just how long it'll be before they happen find us and our hiding place." She said in a warning tone.
"Alright, Princess. Thanks for the information and warning." He replied with a soft sigh. "Go and get Twi and meet me back here later tonight."

Thanks everyone for the wonderful feedback and praise. I'm really glad that you like and enjoy it. Yours, Gypsiebelle P.S. I just want to give Aedh, Libby, Mirabilis credit for all of their help, ideas, and suggestions back when I was asking all of those questions about Prozium, tickles, laughter and sensations. This story could not have been written or this successful at all without their help. Many thanks, Gypsiebelle

After leaving Christoph with her warning, she removed her hat, folding it up and slipping it into a pocket on her outfit. Heading further down towards the main living and sleeping quarters, she entered their bedroom looking for Twilight as she usually could be found sulking in her cot whenever Rys told her or forbade her to come on the missions that she and the others felt were just too dangerous for her and they didn't want her to get caught.
While she did that, Christoph was busy with his own end of the mission of gathering the team of specially trained fighters, or walking shadows that Ryssa dubbed the group of men that they would need for their back-up protection just in case the mission went horribly wrong in some unforseeable way. He also brought with him his own sets of guns for protection just in case that they got separated from each other and the others.
They always wore jet black outfits and boots to help them blend into the shadows that much easier and had helmets with tiny microphone/walkie-talkie devices embedded deeply into them to keep them in contact with each other easier.
They always carried tranquilizer/immobilizer dart guns as well as their regular guns on their uniforms depending just what their particular mission was.
Ryssa finally found her inside of the dog kennels, playing happily with them. Twilight was a twelve year old little girl who stood at a height of 5'3" and had strawberry blonde hair with streaks of a slightly darker blonde. She had light brown eyes and was the exact opposite of her older sister in everyway possible.
She was quiet but open and friendly, much quicker to trust others than Rys was. Twi looked up to her older sister but wouldn't always listen to others and is nonjudgemental and won't hold anything against anyone since she was much younger than Ryssa and doesn't really remember Mara at all.
"Twi, remember when you wanted to come with me on a mission?" Rys asked the younger girl, kneeling down to be more on her eye-level.
"Yes, Rys. I do." She replied while cuddling a spotted puppy in her lap. "Well, tonight is your lucky night. You can go with me on this very important mission. You must promise me that you will follow either Christoph or my orders exactly and stay put where either Christoph or I tell you to, little sis. Can you do that?"
"Really? You mean that, Rys?" Twi asked trying so hard not to sound as excited as she felt however the sparkle in her eyes was harder to hide. "Yes, I can do that. Just you watch and see how well I can follow orders." She said sounding very happy at being allowed to go out on a mission. Twi was so happy that she would've agreed to anything right then.
"Yes, I wouldn't have said it if I didn't, Pipsqueak. I've laid out what you need to wear for tonight out on your cot. After dinner, we're going to change into them and meet Christoph in his lab, then all three of us will head over to the site as quiet as we possibly can." Ryssa instructed her while meeting the little girl's eyes.
"Enjoy your playtime, Sis. I'll be back for you when its time for dinner." The older girl said while standing up and after petting a few of the puppies, began making her way towards the kennel door to get dinner ready.

Once dinner was ready, Ryssa walked back out to the kennels to collect Twi from the collection of playful puppies. She'd already informed Christoph over the intercom that dinner was ready and waiting on the table for him after she used his numerical code that he'd trained her to use for him.
As they sat down at their table to eat, Twi was getting quite excited knowing that the time for her very first mission was getting closer to start and almost couldn't eat a thing but was able, at both Christoph's and Ryssa's insistence to get at least half of her meal down.
While they ate their dinner which they always treated as their very last free meal, since they never knew just when the Clerics with their pet sweepers would find their underground lair and take them away to be processed and all of their forbidden and dear belongings destroyed.
Meanwhile somewhere far above them, the Clerics had located another Rebel hideout and started their own procedure of burning and destroying items and processing the captives.
One of the Rebels, a young female named Shyla, mad at seeing their possions destroyed so carelessly, let it slip that there were a few others around still in hiding.
At that little bit of information, another Cleric casually walked over to her and placing his hand into her long hair and forced her to turn her head to the side where he held her immobile, immediatly rewarded her for telling him that of her own free will, had an Assistant give her her very first dose of Prozium and then had him help Shyla walk over to a waiting car to begin her new life as a Citizen as her old life as a Rebel was now considered forgotten due to her telling him that bit of news.
John Preston, a twenty-seven year old First Class Cleric stood at the impressive height of 6'1". His hair was an auburn light brown mix with reddish and coppery colored highlights that shone like ribbons when the afternoon sun hit it just right coming to a stop at the edge of his collar. His eye color was a hazel green amberish combination when his head was turned sideways to glance at something.
Errol Partridge, was a thirty year old First Class Cleric, just like his partner. He stood a few inches shorter than John, coming in at the height of 5'10". His hair was a dirty blonde with highlights of an auburnish brown. His eyes were a cold icey blue as well as a slightly darker blue. He had almost started to turn into a Sense Offender but it never happened as the Prozium had stopped it dead in its tracks.
"What do you think, Preston? Shall we look around a bit for the others that she spoke of?" Partridge queried his partner.
"Couldn't hurt to at least take a look around and do a bit of exploring anyway and see if its true or not. Besides, now that Shyla's a Citizen of Libria she'll get taken to the Infirmary to be watched carefully while her dose is corrected and taught how to use the injector then placed with a Guardian until she's given her own place to stay. Its amazing, really, what feelings'll make a person do to another person."
Preston replied as he watched the house burn for a little bit before motioning his head at Partridge to begin their explorations of the underground tunnels.

After dinner was finished, Twilight, Ryssa and Christoph left the dining area and headed over to their respective rooms where they changed from their casual clothes into their uniforms to match the Walking Shadows of their security patrol.
Ryssa put her cherry red hair back up into its familiar ponytail and slipped it up underneath the hood that was attached to the black-colored tunic tying the stays attached to keep the hood in place. Tucking the tunic into the black trews then the bottoms of the trews into the boots.
"Rys, can you help me with this, please?" Twi asked her older sister walking over to her as she was unsure just how everything was supposed to fit together seemlessly.
"Sure, Pipsqueak. Come over here." Rys replied as she gave her little sister a helping hand with everything even going so far as to put her strawberry blonde hair up into a ponytail then slipping that underneath the hood and securely tying the stays and putting her helmet onto the little girl's head then doing likewise with her own helmet.
"Princess? Twi? Are you both ready for this little mission?" Christoph asked, his voice sounding slightly tinny over the secure frequency in their helmets.
"Yes, Christoph. We're both ready to capture a few Clerics for ya." Ryssa replied back.
"Yep, I'm ready for my first ever mission, Christoph." Twi echoed her older sister's reply, only hers was a bit more happy and excited than Ryssa's voice was.
"All right. Now, what I'm going to do is split up the Walking Shadows between the three of us so that we all have our backs covered as I'm pretty sure by now that one or more of the other Rebels have at least tipped their hands and informed either the Clerics and their pet sweepers about us, since so far we've pretty much been safe and secure from their sweeper searches where the others haven't been as lucky. So be on your guard and Twilight, if one of your Shadows, Ryssa, or I tell you to go and hide, you do it *without* any complaints, ok?"
"Yes, Christoph. I will, I promise." Twilight replied to him.
"Good. Let's go."
While they got their plans all ironed out, the team of Preston and Partridge and a few of the sweepers began to search the underground tunnels for them.
Hearing a few canine barks, yelps, and whines coming from a nearby kennel, they figured that they were on the right track.
"Don't worry about them for now, we've got more important fish to catch. We can come back and deal with the animals later once our quarry is captured." Partridge said to the team.
"Looks like Shyla was right in her information that she gave us, Partridge, there are a quite few Rebel hold-outs as well as forbidden materials down here." Preston commented unaware that the Rebels they were looking for were almost all around them, but because of the black uniforms that they wore, they were hard to spot or become aware of.

A few of the Shadow Walkers stayed behind in the corridors monitoring the rest of their team and the three Rebels on a handheld sonar radar that had been slightly modified to keep track of everyone easily.
When two newer blips appeared on the screen, they knew that the Clerics were now inside the tunnels hunting for them.
"Christoph, Shadow Six here. Be advised that our quarry is now inside of the tunnels hunting for you three. Stay close to the shadows and wait until there's enough room for you to unlock the guns and safely go into capture mode on our foxes."
"Roger that, Shadow Six. Keep us informed on the foxes location. Christoph, out."
"OK, here is where we all split up. Shadows Eight and Four take the Princess and head north and Sixteen head west .
Shadows Three and Five take Twi and head south. I'll take the remaining Shadows and head east. Good luck and good hunting, everyone." Christoph said into his walkie talkie to everyone on their secure channel before turning the internal speaker off.
After getting their instructions, everyone splintered off away from the main group into a few smaller ones heading down the corridors still tuned into Shadow Six and getting bulletins from him on their headsets when the directions of the Clerics changed directions.
Unaware of the Cat and Mouse game that just started with the Clerics becoming the mice and the Rebels becoming the cats.
"Tie 'em up..tie 'em up, here we go, c'mon now. Bring 'em in, that's it.. easy...easy..steady..steady..now. Almost there." Shadow Six murmured to the entire group while alternately watching everyone's movements both on the monitor and radar.
"The Mice are almost within target range. Cats get ready..its almost time. Everyone unlock your tranquilizer guns, now..Targets almost in sight. Fire when they get into your crosshairs."
Skulking along the corridors, keeping to the shadows, the Walking Shadows guarding Twi, who had already been told to find a safe hiding spot, obeyed and hid herself keeping quiet but still listening to the action while they continued on their hunt for their visitors.
"I see them..the Mice are now in my sights." Shadow Eight said over their radios, loading his tranq gun and getting in position ready to fire.
"Preston, did you see all of the forbidden materials back there? Whoever lives there, must've been there for quite some time perhaps even years or so." Partridge said to his partner in an imitation of an impressed tone in his voice.
"Yes, Partridge. I saw them. I wonder if they'd be willing to keep their lives and turn in a few more of their Rebel companions in exchange for becoming Citizens of Libria, like Shyla did?" Preston asked as he stopped then motioned to Partridge to do the same thing as he tilted his head sideways slightly straining with his ears to hear if there was any other movement or noise in the too quiet corridor besides their own bootsteps.
"Hey..you guys looking for me?" Ryssa's disembodied voice called out to them as she stepped out from a nearby corridor somewhere in the darkness of the hallway.
"I'm right over here. If you can find me in the dark..that is." Her young feminine, but quite angry voice taunted them.
After Ryssa skillfully baited them, she felt Shadow Four place a gentle hand on her shoulder to keep her calm, then turning around they both heard a loud bang go off somewhere in the proximity of a corridor that was very close to the Clerics and before either Cleric could move safely out of the way or find out just it was or where the noise came from exactly to triangulate it, they both felt a couple of slight breezes then two very quick jabs of very small, but sharp needle-like darts pierce the fabric of the Cleric uniforms coming in contact with the bare skin of their upper arms inside the sleeves of their clothes, then feeling a cold substance from the tips of the darts enter their bodies a slightly drowsy feeling overcame both men as they found it very hard to keep their eyes open once the drug began to take effect on the Clerics they then crumpled into two heaps on the floor of the corridor quite unconscious as the potent drug of the tranquilizer entered and successfully sent them to sleep then kept them in that state while a second drug started to immobilize them but still allowed them to breathe then they knew no more.
The tranquilizer was so powerful and caused them to fall into such a very deep sleep that they didn't even feel the metal binders encircle their wrists or hear them click closed.
"Shadow Six, this is Shadow Eight. Mice caught and captured. Heading home with the foxes."
"Good job, Shadow Eight. Meet you back at home base with them." Shadow Six replied.
"Nice going, girls. You both did a very good job." Christoph praised the sisters proudly as they headed down to Christoph's lab where two separate empty beds with a pillow on each waited for them.

Once they returned to the hideout, Christoph directed the men to undo the binders and place the still-sleeping Clerics onto the beds that had been set up for them but there was still enough space inbetween them for someone to walk next to one bed without coming in contact with the other bed's mattress at all.
"What do we do now, Christoph?" Twi asked, curiously as she watched from an observation window in the lab that overlooked the two beds as Walkers Four and Eight placed each of the still-sleeping Clerics onto the mattresses and then removed the metal binders from around their wrists to a separate container on each man's belt.
"We wait and see, but I'm pretty sure that both you and your sister will enjoy being involved in the next part of the plan." He replied placing a hand on the little girl's shoulder.
"Really? We get to help you with this too, Christoph?" She said happily. "Rys'll be glad to hear that. I'm gonna go and tell her about it." Twi commented turning around and heading at a run to find her older sister to tell her the exciting news.
While they talked, Four who was in charge of Preston and Eight who was in charge of Partridge, began getting the Clerics ready for the next part of the test. After they'd removed the binders, they went ahead and removed the outer coat as well as the shoes of the captives. Leaving them only in a black short sleeved t-shirt, slacks and socks.
"Everything's ready, Proffessor. Our guests shouldn't awaken from their drugged sleep until later tonight or sometime tomorrow at the very latest. They're comfortable and sleeping peacefully and their vital signs are steady right now." Eight said into the intercom.
"Good, then let's leave them to their rest as they'll be in for a very busy day tomorrow, besides even if they do manage to awaken, they're still immobilized by the second drug so they can't go anywhere, anyway." Christoph replied to him in a serious tone.

Ryssa was happy when she heard the news that Twilight told her in regards to being a more active part of Cristoph's experiment with the captured Clerics.
I can't wait to help out. This'll be my payback for the past when Mara was taken away from me. I'm definetly looking forward to this. She thought
Meanwhile down in the lab, both Preston and Partridge were slowly coming around and waking up from the tranquilizer dart that the Rebels had gotten them with the night before.
First Preston then Partridge's eyelids began to slightly flutter at first as it wore off then as they slowly opened their eyes, both men were still feeling slightly dazed and confused while they took in their strange and new surroundings.
"Partridge..how.. are you doing?" Preston asked him inbetween sleepy yawns as his eyelids, of their own accord closed on him before he was able to open them up again and this time they stayed open eventhough his hazel eyes looked very drowsy.
"I'm..doing ok..still feel a quite bit sleepy, though. Whatever drug they used that was in that dart was quite powerful." Partridge replied yawning a few times himself.
"This is new..we must be right inside the Rebels hideout itself." Preston said to him. " Shall we go and find them?" Partridge asked sounding excited at being so close to their quarry.
"Yes, since we're here, why let a good chance like this go to waste, there's no telling when a chance like this'll come our way again." Preston agreed with the older man.
Trying to get up, however, proved to be a quite difficult nearly an impossible task for each of them. "Umm..Preston? I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I can't move anything. Looks like we're stuck here for now."
"Nonsense, Partridge." Preston replied but then he too tried to move and found out that his partner was quite correct as he couldn't move either. "Looks like you're quite right. I can't move either not an inch. Nothing's moving, everything's immobilized." He said in a low tone.
"Those Rebels are quite clever, indeed. Who would think to hide an immobilizing drug piggybacked onto a sleep drug?" Partridge asked.
"I'm not sure, but it looks like we're stuck here until they either let us go or this wears off." While they'd been out a few iv's had been stuck into a vein of each arm of both Clerics, giving them a steady supply of their Prozium so that they wouldn't go through withdrawl symptoms the other one held electrolytes and nutrients and anything else that they might need during their stay.

Back over in the City Proper, the Sweepers and Cleric cars slowed and in single file pulled in through the Main Gate, with Shyla being given the honor of a ride in the front seat of one of the many cars that the Clerics get to ride in.
Stopping in front of the Infirmary, the Assistant Cleric got out and walking over to the passengers side where the newest member of Liberia sat/ leaned against the interior of the car, he carried her up the steps and after a slight balancing act to free one of his hands, opened the door and gently placed her onto one of the beds.
"Greetings Cleric, and who do we have here?" The Physician asked as he glanced from her to the young Cleric and back again.
"Greetings Physician. This is Shyla, Liberia's newest Citizen. She was a Rebel, but she turned herself willingly over to us after informing First Class Clerics Preston and Partridge of other Rebels in the surrounding area. She's just received her first dose of Prozium but my Superiors decided that she should spend a few nights in here to get her dose properly regulated." He replied.
"Very well. I'll have a Nurse watch her around the clock until she's stable enough within the proper dose for her size and weight then that same Nurse can instruct her on how to give herself her own dose under strict supervision at first, then on her own. You did good to bring her in here, Cleric."
"I'll leave her here under your care, then, as I have a report that must be made to Father as something unforseen and quite unexpected has happened on this particular Sweep of the Nethers. If you'll excuse me."
"Yes, of course." With that dismissal, the Assistant Cleric left and made his way up the steps towards the long hallway that led to Father's private office where he was expected and shown in right away once he arrived and knocked once at the outer main doors.
"Welcome to your new life as a Citizen, Shyla. Libria guards her own very well. You might not know it yet, but you made the right decision for yourself." The Physician said to the stunned girl before turning around and motioning to a Nurse to bring a new injector and a couple of boxes of the amber-colored Prozium capsules with her.

Over in the city the Apprentice Cleric was giving his report to Father about the loss and capture of both First Class Clerics Partridge and Preston.
While that was going on far away from the City, in the Nethers, over at the Rebels hideout, Twi, her head propped up on the palm of one hand watched from the observation window by herself as both Ryssa and Christoph were out doing other things, that she couldn't do as she was far too young to help, watched while their guests awoke from their drugged sleep. Knowing that she was supposed to let Christoph know the exact moment that they awoke, Twi decided to keep that information to herself for a bit longer.
I'm tired of always hearing them say that I'm too little or too young to help them out with their plans of Resistance fighting and what not. I think that I'll go down there and have a little visit with them. Besides, they didn't say that I couldn't go see our guests. She thought miffed as she made her way down from the window to the two beds where they laid immobile.
Laying flat on their backs with their heads resting comfortably on the pillows, both Preston and Partridge, saw a slight movement in the far corner of their room and watched intently as a little girl of either eleven or twelve, at first shyly peered around the corner, then feeling braver wandered inside and over to sit down in a chair in the room.
"Hey there, little one." Preston said in as a friendly tone of voice as he could make in his predicament as he didn't want to scare her off too soon since she was the first person that either of them had seen since their capture in the corridors a few days before.
"I'm Preston and he's Partridge. Who might you be?" He asked after introducing themselves to her. "I'm Twilight." She said deciding that telling them her name as they already told her theirs, the little girl saw no harm in doing so.
"Twilight, a lovely name for a lovely little girl." Partridge said to her. "Thanks, Partridge." She replied blushing slightly as she glanced into each of the Clerics' eyes after getting the compliment about her name.
"I can't stay here for long with you, but I thought that a little visit wouldn't hurt." She said glancing at them both. While she was with them, they told her about the city and how it looked with the spires going up into the sky.
"I've gotta go now, but I'll see you both again, hopefully maybe really soon." Twi said getting up from her chair and closing the door behind herself as she made her way back out to where the puppies stayed in their kennel.
"Preston, I think that we can sway her over to our side as she doesn't seem quite like the Rebel-type and she's still quite young enough to still become an asset to Libria." Partridge said to his partner.
"Yes, I definetly agree with you there, Partridge. Poor little thing, I think that she feels trapped here." Preston replied in agreement.

Day after day, Twilight, once she was sure that she was either left alone or by herself, would spend her time that she would usually spend inside the kennels playing with the puppies that time would go to the bedroom of the captured Clerics who she thought of as friends or as the older brothers that she never had.
"There's our girl." Preston or Partridge said each time she arrived to spend time with them. She liked being with them as they made her feel very special and important, the one thing that both Christoph and Ryssa never did. "Tell me more about the city and what the interior looks like?" She asked them one afternoon after being left alone once again.
"The interior is a big place, with stairs going up down and in every direction. There's a school for children just like yourself and living quarters stacked one on top of each other that over look an outdoor exercise arena that holds bicycles and gymnastic equipment that frequently gets used by the Citizens of Libria. There's also a swimming pool that's used for the same thing, Twilight." Preston said while Partridge slept or rested as there wasn't anything that he could do while they stayed under the immobilization drug.
The more information that Twi heard, the more she liked the City and really wanted to be there.
"I've gotta go now, but I'll see you both again really soon." Twi said before leaving them alone once more.
Once the door closed behind her, they knew that it was only a matter of time before she rebelled against Ryssa and Christoph. Before she'd left them though, Preston told her about a piece of celluloid that had the number of the Tetragammaton that she could call to have them rescue all three of them and take them back to the City where she could see everything for herself.

After finding the piece of celluoid that Preston told her about, she carefully folded it up and hid it carefully in a pocket of her uniform along with all of her other things that she kept hidden away from both Ryssa and Christoph.
Enjoying her time that she spent with the Clerics, that she started to consider her friends, Twi acted like nothing was different with her as she walked casually down the hallway towards the puppies' kennel. Pausing half-way there, she heard Ryssa and Christoph talking to each other about the second part of the plan with the newer Prozium that Christoph designed.
"We'll need to get Twi's help with this part of the experiment, as the two of us can't do it ourselves as one of us has to inject the newer version of the Prozium that I've created into our captured Clerics before we have one of our Shadow Walkers drop it off at the factory where the Prozium gets made." Christoph said to her in a matter-of-fact tone of voice.
"You're right, Christoph. By the way, have you seen Twi lately? As I've not seen hide nor hair of that little girl." Ryssa said sounding concerned.
"Well, of course we've not seen her lately, we've been far too busy running errands and doing other things in regards to the resistance and the rest of the fighters who want to stay alive out here in the Nethers, remember?"
Christoph replied to the older girl. "She's probably playing with her puppies outside in the kennel." He said unaware of just where little Twi has really been while they were elsewhere and busy."
'I've gotta warn Preston and Partridge about the danger that they'll soon be in as I don't want to lose their friendship over this, if they see me with those two, everything's sunk.
Still, I can't let my new friends get hurt by whatever it is that those two are planning to do to them.' Twi thought to herself after hearing the plans that Ryssa and Christoph were talking about.

Learning about Ryssa and Christoph's plan as well as her being forced to join them, the little girl stayed hidden next to her chosen spot against the wall.
Hearing their footsteps fade away into the distance as they headed out, Twi turned around and instead of being with the puppies, headed down to the room where Preston and Partridge lay in their beds, immobile and unaware of just what waited in store for them, soon.
"Guys, I need to tell you something very urgent." Twi said after greeting them. "What is it? Calm down and tell us, Twi." Partridge said calmly after seeing her dash into their room after just leaving them barely a few hours ago.
"Please don't be mad at me about this but I heard my older sister and my Elder talking about doing a second part of their experiment on you by changing your Prozium into something quite different and they're going to make me help them participate in it." She said a nervous glance in her brown eyes as she looked in both their eyes.
"I don't want our friendship to change or for you to think that I'm on their side as I really like spending time with you both, but I'm afraid that you might think that." She told them in a hurried breath while she informed them about what was going to happen.
"Thanks for telling us, Twi, but nothing can change our friendship, little one. Actually, it just became a bit stronger with you telling us about their little plan and your forced involvement in it." Preston said in a calm tone trying to help reassure their little friend that nothing would change between them.
"It'll be ok, don't worry. We can take anything that they can throw our way, Twi." Preston said hoping to relax her and looking like they were succeeding in doing just that.
"Ok, but I just wanted to warn you both ahead of time, anyway." The little girl replied sounding relieved at their relaxed nature about whatever would happen next and that they weren't going to hold her responsible for it.
Leaving them to head up towards the kennel, she was in a much better state of mind after informing them about what would happen next.
"I thought that she was a good one, now all we have to do is wait and see what's being planned for us. I can't hold her responsible for something that's out of her hands, but I am glad that she warned us, anyway." Partridge said wondering just what was in store for them and when it would happen.

Over in the City, inside the inner office of Father, Apprentice Cleric Lance had just finished giving his report to him.
Afraid that he could or might be in trouble for allowing the capture of his Superiors, he stood there with his hands clasped behind his back.
"Be at ease, Cleric. You won't be held responsible for your Superiors' capture. You did a good job, however, by bringing in a new Citizen for Libria. Once her dose gets regulated and she's allowed to walk around the city without a chaperon, we'll see about moving her into the school district and get her tested by the Instructors to see just where she is school-wise."
When Lance heard that he wasn't in trouble for the capture of his Superiors, it relaxed him a bit further and he was able to focus completely on Fathers' words. When he was dismissed, he saluted him respectfully and headed over to the exercise room where he put himself through a rigorous routine on the bars.
After dismissing his Cleric, Father walked over to the huge window behind his chair and glanced out as the cars left the City heading towards the Nethers to do what they'd been trained to do. Leaving his place at the window, he headed over to the globe in the corner of his office that lit up with a huge light colored lemony-yellow interior light that outlined the other countries and cities on it. Touching the globe with his gloved hands, he wondered just where Preston and Partridge were located. 'They're in the Nethers, somewhere out there, but just *where* that's what I want to know'.
'Apprentice Cleric Lance said that he'd brought a Rebel into the Infirmary, from their last mission, before they left to go off and find out the location of where the other Rebels were. I wonder if the girl would be able to tell us their exact location as far as just where they are? Well, it couldn't hurt by going down there and taking a look at Libria's newest Citizen, anyway.'
He thought to himself as he left his office and headed down towards the Infirmary where Shyla was located.

Christoph had told the two girls during dinner the night before, that tomorrow they would start the next process of his experiment, but that he had to pick up a few hypodermics full of a odd-colored liquid from his laboratory and a few other things first.
"Yea!I've been looking forward to this day ever since Mara was captured and her things destroyed." Ryssa said a tone of revenge so palpable that it was almost a tangible thing.
"Great. that's very good news, Christoph." Twilight replied to him as she felt herself turn very cold as if she was coming down with the chills or as if ice ran through her veins at the thought of hurting her friends, but it was only fear that ran through the young girl's body at the thought of what she'd have to help them with.
"Twi, what's wrong? I thought that you'd be happy about being able to participate in an experiment of mine, little girl?" He asked glancing over at the younger of the two sisters.
"Oh, I am..and nothing's wrong, Christoph. Its just that I don't remember Mara all that well as I was much younger than Rys when it happened, so you can't blame my reactions if I don't seem as happy or excited as Rys does. You know?" Twi said thinking fast as she met her Elders' glance full on and didn't look away either.
"That's right. We forgot about that, Twi. Sorry, little girl." Christoph replied to her nodding.
"After dinner, I'll pull out the photo albums and show you some pictures of Mara, ok?" Rys offered with a nod.
"Yea, I think I'd like that, sis. Thanks." Twi replied brightening up at the thought about the pictures. 'Whew, that was too close. I *almost* gave my friendship with Preston and Partridge away as I'm their only chance for an escape from here. She thought relaxing minutely in response to what could've happened while she went back to eating dinner.

Once Christoph had the supplies that he needed from his lab, he headed over to Ryssa and Twilight's quarters. Seeing the door open, he figured that it was ok for him to enter.
He saw them sitting on the couch, with the older of the two girls showing the younger one pictures of Mara. She pointed out an older woman with fire red hair, roughly the same color as Ryssa had.
"Hey girls, are you both ready for the next part of the experiment?" He asked once he'd gotten their attention.
"Yep, we sure are." Ryssa replied to him as she grabbed Twi's hand and got up from the couch, leaving the photo album open behind them on one of the cushions.
Twi had studied the pictures of Mara really hard and noticed that she and Ryssa looked more alike than she and the older woman did.
'Hmm.. am I adopted by them, then? I must be, because I don't look *anything* like Mara, at least not like Rys does. So, if that's true, than who are my real parents?'
The young girl thought curiously to herself. 'I wonder where and just who my real parents are? Could they be inside the city that Preston and Partridge are from? I think that I'll ask them that when I visit again.'
Pulling herself out of her thoughts and musings, she watched as Christoph and Ryssa talked to each other about the next phase of their experiment that involved the captured Clerics.
"You're awfully quiet over there, Twi. Ryssa and I were just talking a few moments ago and decided that since she was used as bait to capture them, you get first choice in deciding which one of the Clerics to claim as yours, little girl." Christoph said getting her attention.
"Really? Then, I choose the auburn haired one as mine as I claimed him from the first day I saw him." Twi replied with all the possesiveness that she could muster in her voice, as she didn't want to give away that she knew their names and had been spending time with them instead of with the puppies, lest she really get herself into trouble.
"Alright, then, little girl. That means you get the other one, Ryssa."
He said looking over at the red-haired girl as he handed each girl a feather-coated wand before they started the long walk down the hallway towards the closed door where both men laid in an immobilized state unaware of just what exactly lay in store for them, with only a vague warning from Twilight as to what might happen to them, only that she was being forced to join them in it.
"Yes, Christoph. I really can't wait to begin this experiment that you've thought up." Ryssa said.
Looking at hers, Twi glanced up at Christoph curiously but didn't say anything to him verbally, just raised an eyebrow at him while his back was turned to her.
