Not understanding just what the signifigance of the wand meant, Twi curiously asked Christoph about it.
"The two men that we've captured, need a drug called 'Prozium' which numbs the feelings in a person that uses it, but they have some information that I need from them with regards to it, so those wands, that both you and Rys have, and these hypodermics, that I created off of it, will or should hopefully, provided that I've deciphered the chemical formula from a few samples of the drug itself correctly, will cut through it and *make* them feel." He explained to her.
"Oh..but why do they need to stop feeling?" Twi asked looking at both Rys and Christoph with a puzzled look on her face, not understanding their reasoning behind it.
"Twi, those men in there are our enemy. They work for the government of their city, which is why they come out here to destroy our way of life through theirs, which is why Christoph's going to put them through a little 'friendly' questioning in regards to both the Prozium and the ruler of their city. If he can pull this off..he'll have one of our Shadow Walkers dump a container full of his newly-created concoction into the vat that makes their drug and cause them to feel like we do."
Ryssa replied explaining the whole experiment to the little girl, unaware that she was talking to Preston and Partridge's friend.
"Wouldn't this just show up in their own prozium?" She asked confused. "That's the whole point, Twi..they'll have to test and retest their precious drug and then once they find it..they'll have to readjust it again."
Christoph replied to her gently, treating her like she was much younger than her age of twelve, as he knelt down to be on eye-level with her softly patting her on the head afterwards.

Finally I found the time to read your story and I found it very interesting and entertaining as well. Very good work. ;D And you seriously haven't seen the movie? I mean you are pretty close to the "original" thing according to your story as well as (espeacially) atmosphere, which to create seems to be a very talented part of your writing.

Thank you, clericjay. I'm glad that you enjoyed reading it. I've seriously never watched the movie at all, the pictures of the movie however, now those are the only thing from EQ that I've actually seen. Wow! I'm surprised that it comes that close to it. Thanks so much for your comment, Gypsiebelle

Aedh, Its not *exactly* an antidote, per se... that is..it won't work in that capacity, really. It just sort of neutralizes and freezes the Prozium..then forms a little bubble around the frozen Prozium particle to keep it from reaching where it has to go to let the emotion escape and let it do what the feeling dictates. I'm glad that you like the cunning evilness about it, though. Looks like I took a page out of your book, huh? Yours, Gypsiebelle

Opening the door, Christoph allowed the two girls to precede him into the room before closing it behind them.
"Greetings gentlemen. I hope that you're enjoying your accomodations during your stay. I have a few questions that I need answers too and that's where you both come in." Christoph said polietly.
"We won't answer your questions no matter what they might be and eventhough the beds are nice, we're not exactly enjoying them. Put yourself into our place, would you?" Preston asked in a fit of uncomfortability.
"No, I can see where you're coming from, but since I'm not in your position, I really don't need to."
Letting out a mock sigh when he heard Preston's speech,
"I'm afraid that the both of you simply have no choice in the matter. I *will* get the information I'm after one way or another." Christoph replied. "After these two girls are done with the both of you, I think that you will give me anything I want. If only to keep me from having them start over again."
While two of the three men had been talking, Partridge noticed that Ryssa had slowly begun to advance towards him and the bed that he laid on and being immobile like he was, he could only watch as she slowly advanced towards him holding her wand like a sword in her hand, occasionally moving it from one to the other as a veiled threat.
Seeing that Twilight had held back during their conversation, he gave her a slight push towards Preston's bed, unlike her sister, however, who needed no such prodding and was happily advancing towards Partridge.
Reaching his bedside, Rys lowered her wand and slowly began stroking the sides of his neck with it. The only reaction that she got was a slightly stuttered shiver from Partridge and nothing more.
When Twilight reached the side of Preston's bed, the little girl mouthed the words, 'I'm so sorry' to him. He blinked his eyes once in reply showing her that he understood before he too, gave the same response to her activities.
"Professor, its not working. We need your help." Ryssa said stopping and motioning for Twi to do the same when she didn't see any response or reaction from him.
"Alright, this'll help even things up." Christoph said as he walked over and locating their IV port, injected them with his created drug that had a strawberry-pinkish color to it.
"Now it should work just fine." He told them as he left the room closing the door behind him allowing both girls and his injection to work on them in private.

Once the injection was administered it didn't take long before it took effect and both Clerics started to feel it working on them both freezing and slowing down the Prozium in their systems.
Seeing the reaction of a slightly coming awake look in her subjects's eyes, Ryssa picked up her feathery wand and trusting in Christoph's skill with chemicals, went back to what she'd been doing before the injection.
Poor Twilight, she had to follow in her older sister's lead lest she give herself away as a friend of the enemy in her family's eyes.
At first, both Clerics lips' started twitching slightly as if a smile was either trying or starting to make an appearance, then when Rys used her fingers on Partridge's sides at first, then moved elsewhere, the older man couldn't keep his reactions under control anymore as the tingling, shivery sensations overpowered the weakening control of the Prozium and caused him to burst into first soft, then rich, helpless laughter as the older girl decided to use her fingers on him instead.
"Twi, use your hands, it'll work much better and faster." Rys instructed the little girl who'd been just using her wand on Preston's neck.
"Alright, Rys. I will." She replied making eye-contact with Preston's ambery/hazel colored eyes with her sorrowful brown ones before doing as ordered and placing her tiny hands on her friend's body began to carry out her orders causing him to burst into his own helpless laughter, rusty at first, but once the pathways had been cleared and cleaned up by the drug, became better and richer sounding.
The immobilizing drug kept them frozen in the bed and unable from moving out of the way of their tormenters fingers on their skin as the girls kept changing the areas after a little while in one section to another.
Watching from the observation window, Christoph watched as the two girls did their best on the captured men.
'It shouldn't be too long now, before they agree to answering my questions.' He thought to himself before heading over to his lab and checking to make sure that he had enough of the ingredients to fill a vat full of the solution that he'd just used on Preston and Partridge.
Leaving his lab, he headed back over to the room and opening the door, he saw the men quite close to breathless, their eyes swimming in tears caused by their mirth and both Twi and Rys sitting on the sides of their beds, their fingers flying over both men's bodies.
"Ok..ok..we'll..we'll..answer..just..just...stop..this"Partridge sputtered out in between gasps for breaths of air mixed in with his laughter since Preston couldn't even speak for laughing so hard.
"That's good. Rys, Twi, you can stop now. Just sit down in those chairs over there, for now. I might need you girls later in case they decide that they'd rather not cooperate." Christoph instructed them before he gave them time to catch their breath and calm down from what they just went through at the girls' hands.

Once sitting in her chair, Twi felt bad for what she was forced to put her friend through and watched as Preston very slowly calmed down with only a few giggles escaping what little control that he had left and felt nothing but remorse in what she'd done when saw what she'd been forced to put Preston through, and glancing over at Rys sitting in her chair wearing a Cheshire cat-like grin on her face in response to what she'd put Partridge through.
'Oh, Preston. I'm very sorry that I had to do that to you, but I just couldn't let them know about my friendship with you both.' She thought to herself sadly while keeping up a false, happy facade on the outside to keep her true feelings hidden from the others.
While she was deep in her thoughts, Twilight only had a half an ear turned towards the questioning session that Christoph was putting them through, everything else she'd turned inwards on herself.
"I really find that hard to believe, sir. How can that be? Just one man overseeing everything that goes on in your government over in your city?" Christoph questioned them sounding flabbergasted when he heard the reply to his question. "How does the Prozium get delivered to the city then?"
"It gets made in the factories then gets delivered to the Centers who then send it on to the Infirmaries." Preston told him, not liking being able to feel one bit and wanted the warmth, security and quietness of the Prozium flowing through his veins again.
"We've told you all that we know, Professor. We don't know anything more than that." Partridge told him.
"Well, I don't believe you one bit. Perhaps a second go-round with my girls going at your tickle spots again." Christoph threatened them.
"Go ahead..we'll only tell you the same answers to your questions again." Partridge replied to him in the same tone of voice that Christoph just used with them.
"Yes, Professor..let us at them again.." Ryssa requested looking up hopefully at him.
"Fine, but not now, in an hour. I'm going to give you another injection of the drug again, first and let it work on your systems first. He said pulling out two refills of the hypos full of the drug which were used on them earlier.
Walking over to them, he did as he said but this dose was slightly stronger than the first one as it had another ingredient in it.
"Watch them, Ryssa and in one hour you and Twi will be able to put them through your little exercise quite easily without any problems on your end."
"Yes, Professor. Twi, you heard him. In one hour it starts again."
"Yes, Rys." Twi replied to her polietly but not quite looking forward to the next sixty seconds at all.

I think it's quite funny to see/imagine the top killers of Father being treated this way... ;D Thanks, Clericjay. This is just a kinder way of putting them through a question session. I've got another twisting turn up my sleeve. It'll be appearing in the story either coming up..sooner or later..depending on what happens in the next chappy, but you'll just have to wait and see what it is though.... Gypsiebelle

Over in the city far away from the Nethers and where Preston and Partridge lay captive, Father made his way down to the Infirmary to interview Shyla, the girl that Apprentice Cleric Lance had brought back with him the past two days ago.
"Greetings, Father. What brings you down here?" The Physician asked his leader as he opened the door on the first knock of the outer door.
"Greetings, Physician. I wish to speak with our newest citizen and see if she can help me with a little problem that I have. Its of the utmost importance that I ask her this question." He said not caring if his request was vauge or mysterious to the Physician at all.
"Of course, Father. My Nurses and I will leave you to your meeting with Shyla." He replied after showing him the bed that the young girl laid in then motioning for them to leave him alone with her.
Once the entire infirmary was empty, he asked her his question. "Shyla, I wish to welcome you to Libria as her newest Citizen. I have a question to ask of you. Do you remember where you were when my Clerics came to the Nethers on official business. Think hard, my child, as lives depend on your answer."
"Yes, I do. Your Clerics came to the Inner Nethers looking for those Resistance fighters." She said polietly. "That's good, do you remember exactly where?" He asked stroking her hair in hopes that positive reinforcements might help her help him easier.
Thinking hard, Shyla tried to remember where she used to live but nothing was coming to her memory at all. Glancing over at him, she shook her head as nothing was coming to her that could help him with his quest. "I..I can't remember. I'm sorry." She replied to him.
"That's ok..you helped me out a little bit at least. You rest now, and I'll be back to check up on you again later."
Leaving the Infirmary, he headed back up to his office with the tiny bits and pieces of the information that he was able to get from the girl's memory.
'Its not much, but at least its something to start from' Father thought as he headed back into his inner office to walk over to the globe and begin to piece together some sort of coordinates that he could use to dispatch his Sweepers with, but it just wasn't enough information to go on except for the part where she mentioned the Inner Nethers, so he decided to use that as a starting point and work his way around from that little nugget of information that she'd unknowingly given him.

Once the injection had been given to the two Clerics, a definite change was felt almost immediately by the two men. The second injection had a secret ingredient that made their skin extremely sensitive to any touch that came in contact with their skin. Even a slight bump to the bed was felt by both Partridge and Preston.
"Its time, Twi. Use your wands this time as the hypo that the Professor gave them will make them extremely sensitive to the feathers' soft touch." Ryssa informed her little sister.
Letting out a soft, almost inaudible sigh, "As you wish, Ryssa." Twi replied before doing as bid and picking up her wand from where she'd dropped it on the floor, at first slightly hesitated as she just watched as the older girl picked up her wand and after slipping it underneath the short-sleeved black shirt to come in contact with Partridge's bare skin, letting the feathers work on him for awhile.
Following her lead, she did the same thing to Preston as Ryssa was doing to Partridge. After a few moments of listening to her friends laugh uncontrollably.
Seeing that Ryssa was having too much fun, she decided to give Preston a break and stopped what she was doing.
"Rys, I'm gonna get something to drink. I'll be back later to work on Preston some more, ok?" She said getting up from her place on Preston's bed where she'd been for the past few minutes.
"See you later, Twi." Rys called over her shoulder at the younger girl, to engrossed in what she was doing to really hear the words that the twelve year old said to her.
Listening to Partridge's laughter, Rys kept up her work, unaware that the younger of the two girls had left the room. After Twi left, Preston was able to slowly begin to calm down, eventhough a giggle would escape him as his skin was far too sensitive due to the injection that he'd gotten earlier.

Unaware that she was being followed by a tall male shadow, Twi headed out to where the puppies lived to calm herself down after having to put Preston and watch as Ryssa did the same thing to Partridge through that torture, but just before she reached the gate to the entrance, a huge male hand clapped itself over her mouth, careful to keep her nose uncovered so that the little girl could still breathe, even if she couldn't speak or call out for help.
"I'm going to uncover your mouth, now, little one. As long as you promise me that you won't scream, ok?" A new and unknown male's voice said to her kindly. "Nod your head if you understand me." He instructed her as he had her in a loosely relaxed but very powerful grip.
Feeling her head move as she obeyed his instructions, he slowly moved his hand and uncovered her mouth. Kneeling down to keep his eyes level with hers, he gave her a slight grin.
"I've been hoping that I'd find this place for quite some time now and I think that maybe I finally have after far too many dead ends and turn arounds in the coordinates that I'd been given." He muttered to himself sounding relieved that maybe, just maybe he was finally at the right place this time.

Hearing that phrase, Twilight glanced over at the visitor with a curious expression on her young face.
"What do you mean finally found the right place? Who are you and why have you been looking?" She asked, her natural curiosity overtaking her as the male hadn't really hurt her and he was gentle with her besides.
"I'm sorry, I guess a round of introductions are in order, huh?" He commented polietly. "I'm Apprentice Cleric Lance and you are?" Lance asked her polietly. "I'm Twilight." The little girl said bringing her small hand up to her lips in a slight warning for him to be quiet as she heard a pair of bootsteps started coming towards them then just at the last moment turned down another hallway.
"That was too close. Lance, are you looking for Preston and Partridge, by any chance?" Twilight asked him in a slightly hushed tone.
"Yes, as a matter of fact, I am. Father sent me and a troop of Sweepers to look for them." He said speaking in almost a whisper to her. "I can take you to them, but we need to be very quiet about doing so. Oh, and do you happen to have any Prozium on you? They're going to need it, quite badly." She informed him.
"Why, Twilight? How do you know about the Prozium?" He asked her after hearing her cryptic message. "You'll see when we get there, as they'll definetly need it after what they've been through. Preston and Partridge told me all about everything." Twi said placing her little hand trustingly into his much bigger one and began to lead them back the way she'd come making sure to stop off at the room where all of the uniforms for the Shadow Walkers was. Following her lead, he noticed that they stayed in the shadows of the darkened corridors, stopping every so often when his escort heard the echo of heavy boots in one of the adjoining hallways before stopping at a closed door.
Opening up the door and going inside, Twi took a quick glance over at Lance's clothes from the interior and reaching up, pulled down a large sized uniform complete with boots.
"Lance, if they see you dressed as you are now...everything will have been for nothing, and you'll wind up just like they are." She warned him as a very serious look appeared on her face, looking wrong for a young girl of her age.
Quickly pulling the uniform on over his Cleric clothes, he glanced thankfully down at her for all of the protectiveness that she showed him. Once dressed in the other clothes, they continued on their way down to the room where the other two Clerics were being kept.
While Twilight was gone, Ryssa had been very busy with the wands and the immobilized Clerics before she too, left the room and closed the door behind herself.
'I don't know where Twi went off to, but she sure missed out on a fun time' Ryssa thought as she headed over to Christoph's lab.

Before continuing on their way, Twi made a slight detour to Christoph's lab and after leaving Lance to guard the door, the little girl found what she was looking for then carefully placed the four vials into her pouch.
Taking his hand once more trustingly in hers, she took them down to the door where she opened it leading him inside where both Preston and Partridge lay immobile on the beds. While being very careful not to touch the sensitive skin of her friends.
"Get ready to give them a dose of Prozium, Lance, after I inject them with the antidote, ok?" Twi said glancing over her shoulder at Lance. "Ok, Twi. I'm ready when you are." Apprentice Cleric Lance replied getting his injector out of his vest pocket then walked over to where his Superiors laid on the separate beds.
Once both of the antidotes were administered, the immobilization drug quickly began to wear off leaving a tingly sensation behind.
"Now, Lance." Twi said after stepping out of his way to stand at the headboards of both beds to give him enough room to inject them with a much needed dose of Prozium.
"Sirs, how are you doing?" the young Cleric asked afterwards. "Much better thanks to you both." Preston replied glancing over at them as he weakly sat up on the bed with his sock-covered feet touching the floor while glancing over at Twilight as she walked over to Partridge's bed and after grasping his hand, helped him to do the same thing.

"Lance, do they look like they've gotten back to normal yet?" Twi asked her new friend, as a curious but worried look appeared a few moments later after he'd just given both men an emergency injection of Prozium.
"No, Twilight. Not quite yet." He replied to the young girl while getting out his injector to give both of his superiors another dose. Taking a glance over at the port and its location, gave the little girl an idea. "When you give them their next dose, use that to get it working through their systems quicker since its either right over a vein or inside it."
"Good idea. It couldn't hurt to try it out anyway." Lance agreed and after loading up his injector tried to line it up with the opening, but found that after a few tries in every direction to use the tip, Lance found that it was both too small and short to do so. Just as he was about to turn around and ask Twi if she carried any spare hypo's on her, a thought entered his head.
'Wait a minute, let's see if this way works any better'. Unscrewing and removing the metal base exposed the needle-like tip, giving the injector both a hypodermic look and feel to it which made it easier to follow through with the young girl's suggestion and successfully able to use the port to give them another dose of the much-needed Prozium then put the chrome top back onto the base which hid the wicked looking needle.
While they both waited expectantly to see if that would work better, Lance kept his eyes on his superiors faces releasing a soft breath, when the familiar blank but numb look appeared in their eyes, letting them know that it worked.
Once that part of the plan worked, Twi looked around the little room, her eyes landed onto an odd shaped knob on an adjoining door and after opening it, found both of her friends uniforms hanging up in the odd shaped closet as well as their boots which she took over to them to dress back into, but before they changed back, she quickly leaned over and quickly pulled out their ports to make it easier for them to do so.
"Lance, with you being still dressed as a Shadow Walker, it should hopefully be easier for you to get by the rest of the Walkers with them behind you." Twilight said glancing up at him with her chocolate colored brown eyes. "Just keep your helmet on as it has a voice distorter built in that will muffle and distort your real voice into a metallic one." She instructed him.
"Thank you for your help, Twilight, I couldn't have found my superiors as easily without you." "Father'll want to meet you, little one, for helping me rescue Partridge and Preston." He said glancing down at her. Hearing that news, she nodded her head. "After what I heard about him, I'd like to meet him too." She replied softly.

Helping both Preston and Partridge put their boots on then slowly begin to get acclimated to standing upright after laying flat out on their backs on the beds that they'd been in for the past few days, Twilight didn't want them to get either sick or dizzy after their experiences with Christoph and Ryssa.
"The Prozium is slowly beginning to take effect again, Twi, but it'll take awhile for it to get back up to full-strength." Lance said after glancing into his Superior's eyes after quickly removing the port in both of their forearms.
"Can we get out of here, Twi?" Preston asked groggily while getting his bearings back after being a human guinea pig to Christoph's experiments.
"Yes. Christoph, Rys and a few of the Shadow Walkers have left to deposit the newer version of your prozium off into the vats deep in the city, so we can leave here quite easily while they've gone off on that errand." She replied quietly to his query.
Walking over to the still open door, Twi motioned everyone to silence as she entered the empty hallway tilting her head first in one direction then in the other and satisfied that there weren't any heavy footsteps coming, gave the all-clear signal and helped them get out of the room and into the corridor where the shadows were the deepest.
"Lance, we'll need to follow your lead out to the surface safely to your caravan as both Partridge and Preston will need to be seen by your Doctor after what they've been through, but I'll have to come with you, though." She said to him softly.
"Of course, Twi." He replied.
Reaching the surface and the cars, the driver quickly got out and helped the First Class Clerics get inside then closed the doors.
"Young lady, I think you'd best ride up here with me." Sam said after opening the driver side door and having her slide over to the passenger side then he got in and pulled the door shut securely.
After Lance got into his own car, the procession of cars began the journey back to the City with the now safely rescued Clerics and an unknown little girl with them.

Not long after Twilight and the once-captured but now rescued Clerics and Apprentice Cleric Lance had gotten into their limousine-like cars with the armour tank-like Sweeper vehicles not far behind them. Never having been allowed to leave the hidden maze of underground tunnels that she'd lived in for so long except for when she went above ground to play with the puppies that lived in the kennels, Twilight glanced excitedly out of the tinted window at the scenery as they traveled farther and farther away from the Nethers and closer to Father and the City that she'd been told so much about.
Preston and Partridge took turns at answering her questions when she asked them what each thing was but her worried brown eyes glanced back at them chewing at her lower lip when she did so.
'I hope that their Doctor can get them back onto the Prozium safely when we enter the City and that Christoph's drugs didn't do too much damage to them'. She thought sadly.
Meanwhile Christoph, Ryssa and the Shadow Walkers were heading back to the tunnels after dropping off the newly created batch of the liquid Prozium that Christoph created to the Medical Center and taking the huge bucket of the other liquid back with them to fix and bring back once the new additives had been incorporated into the old batch.
Reaching the entrance, they got out of the truck and while one of their guards parked it further away so as not to cause any suspicion or be able to trace it back to them, Ryssa walked through the tunnels to find the captured Clerics and gloatingly tell them about the concoction that they just dropped off.
"Twilight, we're back." She called expecting to hear the little girl's voice echo back to her the first time. "Twi? Where are you? Answer me." The older girl called out once more, feeling the cold fingers of fear and dread trace down the back of her neck. Practically running, she headed towards the room where the captive Clerics had laid on the beds but now seeing only empty beds and the ports and I.V.drips resting there instead.
Panicked, she called out for the Professor. "Christoph we have an emergency! Twi's gone and so are the Clerics."
"What? That can't be right. Are you sure?" He yelled back using the older girl's voice as a guide to help him locate her. Seeing the evidence of the now-empty beds, he turned around and making a fist, rammed the doorframe with it leaving an indentation in the wood.
"I'll bet you anything that it was Shyla who told them where they were." He said after calming down slightly. "Yeah, Twi was probably taken as a hostage when they rescued them from here." Christoph said taking in the surroundings one last time before leaving the empty room with Rys hot on his heels.

In a dark red fog of anger, Christoph wasn't aware that Rys was practically at a run to keep up with his fast stride made even faster because of his misplaced thoughts about Shyla and her information in regards to the now rescued and free Clerics and Twi's capture by the Sweepers due to what he thought she had told them before hand.
"Christoph, do you think that you could've slowed down slightly hmm? Its very hard to keep up with you when you move that fast." The older girl panted out to him once she finally caught up with him.
He was so angry at what he saw when they returned that it seemed like there was a pair of blinders on his face keeping him from looking left or right just straight ahead. Going so far as to even block out the voice of the remaining girl trying to make conversation with him.
'They like to live on their Prozium, huh? Well, I'm going to make it so addictive for them that they won't be able to live without it. Those Clerics will need to up their precious dose just to keep a normal level in their systems.' Christoph thought while grabbing test tube upon test tube of addictive substances to add to the next batch that was dropped off to the Pharmacy.
"Princess, mix up those liquids and grab that sky-blue one over there as well. We're going to give them a surprise that they hadn't quite expected on."
After the contents were mixed up and added to the next bucket that held the changed Prozium, he had one of the Shadow Walkers take it out to place on the truck and drive it over to the building to add it to the huge gallon bucket to be added to the concoction.
"Shyla'll be very sorry that she said anything to them now, Princess."
