You deleted my thread! and my posts! OMGERZ kidding aside though, I beat the main story mode, and played the objective mode and some DMW levels (Looking good mister anderson....I mean in the game....) I must say, though the mod does have its faults, its still quite good. Rico, Anderson, Corwin, and crew, grab a cold one! ;D Cheers.

My 2 cents:
Things i liked: 1. The GunKata is cool, really cool... 2. Nice Introduction video, it's a good way to explain the GunKata controls! 3. Manual is also nicely done 4. The maps are great and detailed 5. It gives the Equilibrium feel from the movie
Things i didn't liked, but are not important: 1. The models are kinda ugly... 2. Textures doesn't look real
Things i didn't liked, and are annoying: 1. Crosshair dissapears during GunKata moves 2. When doing a "shift+direction" kata enemy's can do NO damage... 3. You can't even jump normal... instead you do a gunkata air move... (In gun-kata mode)

Was that it? One level?
whilst the gun-kata works better than most attempts it's still just way easier (and even more fun) to shoot normally. and those muzzle flashes had some serious bugs. you should have just used the originals, albeit a little bit tweaked maybe.

Still to bad you can't play the max payne 2 story mode in the cleric skins... Is that going to be fixed or patched?

Enrico: The story level was not the focus of the mod. Try playing the DMW levels, the training level and the Objective level.

The Objective level was a good idea, I'll give you that. but there just seem to be"gaps" in the mod all over the place.
like the weapons, in the films the sweepers used P90s+AK103s (when arresting his wife) and G36ks and some modern russian SMG (I must profess I don't know the name but it's in Rainbow 6: Lockdown. looks similar to a Berretta M12) in the assaults, whilst in the mod you only have G36Cs and the full-sized G36. and the G36C is denoted with a UMP icon. and in the manual you say they use all the same values as the original MP2 weaps. the cleric guns have no full-auto mode.
with levels, it's easy to visualise what else you could have done. maps of broken down houses/flats with rebels armed with AKs, and you with a bunch of sweepers backing you up. the zip file says it's v.0.6a. is there a later version coming out?

Is that it? Just a post with another mirror? How about answering a few questions? Like, is there gonna be a patch that fixes bugs, and makes it possible to play the MP2 story mode with gunkata and cleric skin from start?

By running the game with the command -developerkeys you can actually switch to any of the characters you want by pressing PageUp or PageDown while in game.
We are considering working some more on the mod, still it's far from being a sure thing.
EQGunkata mod was a rippof of our code, leaked by the author of CloseToTruth. It doesn't have much merit.
By pressing the shoot button while performing a gun-kata move you can manage to aim by yourself (although it might look strange with one or two animations). Holding the crouch button and the shooting button allows you to shoot in full-auto with the clerics.
And about your level ideas : I've been busy with 3 mods this last year, working on some more levels would have taken some more months, if not years.

By running the game with the command -developerkeys you can actually switch to any of the characters you want by pressing PageUp or PageDown while in game. That doesnt work. When doing that the game crashes on almost every cutscene! You can try it in the hospital, change the skin, and enter the door when the cutscene starts with the dead body on the floor... The game will crash... I really hope you guy's will release some patches to make the game better... Cuz really, the mod rules, but ffs fix the bugs, and make the story mode playable with the cleric model and gunkata from the beginning...

Well, I'm coming at this from the angle of an EQ fan who doesn't automatically love things just because they're linked to EQ. And a gamer who's been messing with Joysticks since the 1980's and has a fair few hours of gaming under my belt. After two hours with the mod, I think I need to be honest, because otherwise there is no point to anything. This thing mod isn't a retread the EQ storyline, or an indepth exploration of every weapon or detail from the film. It doesn't try to be. This is a gun-kata simulator. Nothing more, nothing less. It's the closest any of us will ever get to going Cleric Kurt Wimmer style. And it's fan-bloody tastic! Rather than try to do a billion things (such as a long single player campaign, modeling every single weapon glimpsed in the movie, accuratly rendering the mole on the side of Preston's nose in perfect scale), the team have put their time and energy into the thing we all wanted to see in any EQ action game. GunKata. But not just any half-assed gun-kata with flashy but useless moves. This is proper gun-kata. You can't just run in, randomly hitting buttons and expect to kick-ass. You have to actually learn which moves do what, and which situations they are good for. You have to take into account the scenery, the cover, the angles of attack. And to do this whilst also looking cool is going to take some practice, but it can be done. In short, this is not a simple shoot-em up. This is Chess played with hot metal and screaming lead, exactly as it was conceptualised in the movie. Knowing when to use a move (and when to simply forget Gun-kata and jsut run and gun) is the key to this mod, and the key to getting the best out of it. More to the point, each Cleric has a very different fighting style. Trying to use your Preston strategy whislt playing as Cleric Anderson will get your ass kicked. I cannot overstate how well balanced I have found the Gun-Kata system. It would be easy to make it too hard or too easy, but the HOM team seem to have got the balance more or less right. Easy to learn, hard to master. What, you thought Preston's Martial art would be easy? Yes the story mode is short, but the DMW and Objective maps are the core of this game and I think they offer great replay value as I'ev had Max Payne 2 for over a year and I still hit the DMW maps quite frequently. Now I can do it Wimmer-Style! To be honest, I'm glad we got a kick-ass gun-kata system, wonderful graphics and animations and a short story, rather than a lame gun-kata, shoddey codeing and animation and an endless single player campaign to struggle through. If the HOM team had been getting corperate funding then I'm sure the story would have been longer and every little weapon/object/actor seen in the movie would have been included. But they were doing this on thier own time, as fans, for fans. For Free. As such, it's the best bloody gift I've had in ages, and much more fun than many "professional" games I've played. A big thank-you to all the HOM team, for all your hard work in bringing this old PC gamer and EQ fan such a cracking interpretation of one of his favourate ever movies. You guys rock and you deserve all the Prozium you can handle...
