I've seen this kinda thing elsewhere, but I'm not too sure if it's been done here, if it has, then go ahead and delete this one, Jen ;D
The thread is easy....... What's in your cd player right now?
Me, I'm listening to some Nine Inch Nails.

Hm...If I recall, it's a burned CD. It features Staind (yay for "Mudshovel"!), Crystal Method, Ozzy ("Gets Me Through"), um...Disturbed, P.O.D... other stuff. Before that it was Velvet Revolver <shudder> . Surprisingly, Metallica has not seen the laser eye in some time. I should fix that.

It's the holidays, the only thing in my CD player till New Years is the Trans Siberian Orchestra. If you've never heard them they play the best Holiday music ever.

I heard "Christmas Eve Sarajevo" on the radio about a week ago, and absolutely needed to learn it. Had to get two sets of tabs though. I'm still waiting on my friend to download it for me. That song is amazing!

Artist - Dark Tranquillity; Album - Skydancer
In case people were compelled to actually look up some of these artists (I know I'd be interested), do you think we should add the genre, too?
DT is Scandanavcian Death Metal, by the way.

Right now listening to Howie Day - "Collide".
Earlier today was listening to a cd I just bought - a local artist named Isha, she plays piano and sings like Tori Amos, only not so depressing. (Bought it on a chat buddy's recommendation - Isha is a friend of hers). Quite good - she also reminds me of Vienna Teng.

Right now listening to Howie Day - "Collide". I have a pretty cool cover of Howie Day singing Toto's "Africa".

klaus Badelt, Curse of the Black Pearl. All the time, over and over and over again ;D I feel kind of guilty since it's basically all I'm listening while I work at my EQ fansite, and it should be the EQ soundtrack really, but what can I do.. I'm in love with the score of my favorite pirate movie ;D

currently listening to some Rasputina..... Dunno where my friend found them, but it's good in my opinion. It's like a violin based rock, classical, genre....kinda hard to describe but good stuff.

Had Linkin Park's Meteora in my player last night/this morning. Switched it for Untouchables from Korn. Not the best change, but it'll do. Gonna try waking up to "Here To Stay" tomorrow morning. Five days till Christmas in 40 minutes!!

Currently I have A Very Speical Christmas - Vol. 1
Nothing spells Christmas to me quite like U2 singing Baby Please Come Home or Madona's Santa Baby (though I really do like Everclear's version better.)

See my personal pick for the best would be Mannheim Steamroller. One problem though...almost all of their stuff sounds to me like Disneyland's Electrical Parade.

...or Madona's Santa Baby (though I really do like Everclear's version better.) Yeah. There's just something about Art's voice that makes the song work.

Manic Street Preachers - The Holy Bible 10th Anniversary Edition (not very Christmassy but hey! ) Listening to this album again after seeing the Manics on Friday (and they were very very very good). It's one of the most touching CDs I've ever listened to, it's so easy to connect with when everything in the world is plummeting into chaos and horror. There's just something fundamentally raw and dirty about it that makes it a cut above (and if you know of the Manics only through later stuff like "Design For Life" and "If You Tolerate This..." it'll be a big surprise). Funny how, back then, it was considered inscrutible and almost unlistenable but now it's suddenly a classic. I think the Manics had a certain irony in re-releasing it after the US election (particularly when you listen to "IfWhiteAmericaToldTheTruthForOneDayItsWorldWouldFallApart"). Absolutely brilliant album. Deimos

Yeah. There's just something about Art's voice that makes the song work. I just love when he sings, "All the girlies that I haven't kissed." (Bahahahahah!!) Gets me every time.

I'm currently playing Depeche Mode's 'Ultra' in my car at the moment, just love them, sorry! I also have the EQ Soundtrack (of course) in my Personal CD player ready for when I have a bath. ;D Not very Christmassy either but as we are spending Christmas at my Parents again this year, then as per every other Christmas, he will be playing the Christmas album all day and every day. Hoping for Scissor Sisters CD for Christmas. Has anyone got it?? Is it any good??

The Hannibal soundtrack has many great renditions of classical music. It was created by Hans Zimmer, and if you know of his work, the name itself should impress. I highly recommend it.

I've been listening to Swedes from Evergrey for the last couple of months. Five albums filled with energetic, melodic and powerful tunes with strong voice of Tom Englund and some cool strings. Totally striking!!! Also Nightwish, refreshing and progressive gothic metal from Finland (great: The End Of All Hope, Moondance or their version of The Phantom Of The Opera ) Those Scandinavians really know how to rock \m/ ( in case you guys didn't know )

Your friend has good reason to rave about them, Beefie. You'll find out as soon as you hit play button I can't properly function during the day without my daily dose of Proz... Nightwish, eh

Nightwish is wicked!! I've only heard "Wish I had An Angel" (I think that's it) on Launch. Well, I watched it. Frickin' metal! She can sing, and that dude that sings with the guitar is nuts!
