Thanks guys...much appreciated.
I hope I can get ch3 to Jen this week. I'm at work on a 'handover' week from next Monday, getting to know my new class and team teaching with the outgoing teacher. Then husband and I are off on holiday for a while just before and over the half term , so I won't be around from 8-20 Feb...

*waits with swishy tail*
I should work on some of my stuff but to be frank my motivation has been dead in the water due to several things. So dead that I am seriously thinking of giving up on it.

So dead that I am seriously thinking of giving up on it. *sends positive vibes' Isn't there some psychological stuff somewhere (if there isn't there should be) that talks about harnessing the negative/depressed energies and turning them into something worthwhile? If you're feeling down incorporate it into your writing; pour all the angst and anger into the typed word. Let your characters speak for you and it could become a sort of catharsis...kind of like wolves howling at the moon...

Thanks Libby. I seem to remember David Gemmel and I think Piers Anthony doing something very similar...especially Gemmel with his Druss series of books.

Completely absorbing from beginning to end! ;D I loved the domestic scene at the beginning, and how you weaved the plot into the cooking dialogue. Then Preston's obviously fully awakened *ahem*. Then the thickening of the plot revolving around "White Magic." And the CSI-like forensics detective work Kyra and Ted are doing. Great stuff, Libby!! More, I want more!! ;D ;D

Thank you muchly for the feedback...had kinda let this slide, but needed a time-out from school (SAT-type exams to mark this week).
Funny you should mention CSI...it's my weakness (CSI in all its forms/Bones/Patricia Cornwell/Kathy Reichs) I'm addicted so you'll be seeing it creep in here and there (especially in the next chapter or so).
I didn't want a 'cosy' domestic situation either -not that this was ever on the cards given Kyra's dosed actions years before.

Excellent work there, a very suspenseful chapter. I really love the investigative part both Preston and Kyra are doing, it sounds very believable. And I'm really curious what the murderer's motives are. Keep writing!

As always Libby, what can I say -- I'm running out of words to describe the talent you have for the interaction between your characters and the plotlines. I am seriously impressed

We're off to Madrid for a few days at half-term so I've sent the next chapter to Jen, who should put it up in the next couple of weeks.

Damn, the plot is thickening and the mood is getting significantly darker. You really have great talent for creating mood and vivid characters. Not to mention the level of suspense is incredibly high.
In one word: excellent. I already can't wait for the next chapter! *stamping her feet in anticipation*

Actually, MaWa, I got the old suspense and 'cliffhanger' thing from you, Judas and Wolf
As for getting darker...definitely.

I absolutely love this chapter, the tension in the air, Jurgen's naieve belief that Libria would be totally free. I think I'd take the cage/room full of panthers option than being in a place with those Free Cleric, scary folks indeed. I do love the way you generate emotionally powerful characters, these are not just words on a page to me but living breathing people *claps*

Thank you, Wolf...I really appreciate your views, since I've taken a darker course than usual...your influence, of course.
I began with the lighter view of a successful transition, but really there's no such thing...new visions are borne of pain and suffering and are threatened by the greed of heartless men. Although, much of what follows in future chapters stems from a much deeper and older emotions...I shall say no more!

I am glad I can offer some darker influences *grin*
Darkness is primal and our fear of it stems from the very same.

At last! I've been waiting forever for the latest chapter... Sorry about that. Libby really has been very, very patcient with me. I think that she sent it to me last June. Things should be a lot smoother and faster around here now that I'm off of freewebs.
