Aside from Preston, who was your favorite character?
My choice: Partridge

Well, yes, of course Preston is my favorite character, but if I had to pick my second favorite, it would be Yurgen (or however you spell his name). I think he is really cool.

DuPont. Second best fighter in the movie, and MacFadyen was great in the role.

Partridge, I really think he helped set the tone for the entire film as the catalyst for Preston's journey.
Favorite bit part...the fellow at the lie detector during the "Not without incident" segment. I really felt for him. Nice delivery for just a few moments on film.

Partridge, I really think he helped set the tone for the entire film as the catalyst for Preston's journey. Most definitely. Even though he's absent in most of the movie, he's still vital. Partridge could have ended up as a character that's easily thrown away and forgotten. Sean Bean did it right.

I can't believe this. What's the matter with you people? Of all the characters and not a single of you chose Kurt Wimmer?
LoL. Ok enough of that. I was only playing.
I mean sure he got like a 3 second part in the film getting shot at but he looked pretty cool in that ragedy outfit, wouldn't you agree?

I liked Brandt, Taye was really, really cool in the role. ;D
Also Viviana Preston. Only one line, but a particularly effective one - "Remember me!"

That was Wimmer? I had a feeling it was him. I just couldn't figure it out though. Anyway, that was cool too. Nice Gun Kata movements.

I'm sorry but Wimmer looks so cheesy in that cameo where he's being shot! Even he - and that Lucas guy - laugh at it during the commentary

Also Viviana Preston. Only one line, but a particularly effective one - "Remember me!" Tidbit...Did you know that there are two actresses playing Viviana Preston in EQ? They filmed the execution scene first, after which, that actress left with no word. So they had to find a replacement for the scene where Viviana is arrested in their home. I think they did a great job at choosing a look-a-like.

I'm thinking...and thinking...and thinking...and I cannot decide between Partridge and Mary. Guess I'll have to choose both of them.

Not many people liked DuPont I guess. I thought he was the second best character mostly because of that sweet gun fight he did at the end of the movie. Also I remembered him from Braveheart where he did a spectacular job playing Robert the Bruce.

After I wrote my previous post that Partridge and Mary were my favorites, I thought of my other favorites and wished I'd mentioned them as well....DuPont and Preston's son. I totally agree with you. DuPont was wonderful in the role. I love when he says, "Calm. Good. Entirely without incident." I want to find more movies with him. I'll check out Braveheart again and pay closer attention to Robert the Bruce...thanks for mentioning that film. Do(es) you (or anyone) know if DuPont (I feel stupid...what is his real name?) was also in the movie, Titus, with Anthony Hopkins and Jessica Lange? Thanks!

I'm the only one to think that I guess but my favorite character is definitly Father. It must have been so hard to convince the poeple to stop feeling and to create the new society of Libria. When I think about only the movie, my favorite character is Preston, of course. But when I think about all the events that must have taken place before that story, I like Father more than anyone else.
In fact, I'm even writing a fanfic about Father's saga. I don't know if I'll be able to complete it because it's the first time I do this and also because I'm writing it in English and it's my second language(first one is french) but I hope I'll succeed because I have very good ideas (well, I think they're good...)

Am I the only one that thinks Angus was a bad choice for father? He didn't look the part. Bale has the perfect look for Preston but Angus doesn't look like a powerful leader (And he makes stupid faces during the gun fight with preston). I would have liked to have seen Sean Bean as father.. I think he would have done a better job and it was a waste to kill off a good actor so early in the movie.

I guess it didn't bother me because I never thought that Napoleon looked like a powerful leader either. Besides we were not really supposed to know of the Dupont/father connection until the end. If he seemed too powerful in the beginning it might have given away that aspect of the plot.

IMHO, one of Brendan Fraser's best and most charming films.

No, sorry, I would have to completely disagree. Stupid faces? I don't think they looked stupid, just intense. And I agree with Jen, who says, "I guess it didn't bother me because I never thought that Napoleon looked like a powerful leader either. Besides we were not really supposed to know of the Dupont/father connection until the end. If he seemed too powerful in the beginning it might have given away that aspect of the plot." Absolutely, Jen!
