Actually the ending of the Arnold Schwarzenegger's version of Total Recall was very bad, because the near-zero atmospheric pressure on Mars would have instantly killed the people who were ejected out of the building. Also it would have taken a lot more time for the atmosphere to replenish itself. Otherwise the movie was good:)
We shall see the Kurt Wimmer version. This time there is no excuse because the budget is 10 times the budget of EQ.

I agree that the ending for the Schwarzenegger movie was poor...but big budgets don't necessarily mean a better movie...we shall see indeed.

Yes you are totally right, they could never die like that... lol but hey I was 7 and I loved it (even though I knew those thing were rubbish hehe). Mira is also right... I'm not going to expect much and maybe I'll be surprised!

However, the Space 2001 movie of Kubrick is very realistic because the astronaut David Bowman manages to enter the emergency airlock very quickly and close the automatic hatch from inside by pulling the lever, within 5 to 10 seconds, and the room is immediately re-pressurized. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_suit As you can see in this youtube video extracted from the original Space 2001 movie, within about 7 to 8 seconds after the astronaut is in vacuum, he manages to pull the lever and the hatch closes within less than 15 seconds. www.youtube.com/watch?v=e92vSua8XJYwww.youtube.com/watch?v=bfQJKBq9g64
