Wimmer says that the new remake of Total Recall will respect the structure of the original film, but that it would be more down to earth, contemporary. There is great potential for a plot with a manipulative Dupont-like character in this movie, with dreams even more complex than the ones in the Inception movie. Both Equilibrium and Salt show that Wimmer was the right writer for the Total Recall remake.
