For Equilibrium fans it must be emphasized that there are intentional similarities between EQ and the new Salt movie, and this seems to be a conscious effort to resurrect themes from EQ.
The story of Salt is inherently very similar to EQ.
Without giving away the plot, we can note that:
1) The Russian spies are trained in a monastery, like clerics, 2) There is a Father figure the clerics (spies) obey religiously, 3) Due to emotional reasons one of the cleric spies rebels against Father, 4) Salt stabs a cleric spy with a pen just like Mary O'Brien tried (but this time she is successful), 5) There is a Dupont-like figure who tries to subvert and hijack Father's institution for his personal gain, 6) And this is a movie about mind control, where the most trusted people are double-crossing and even triple-crossing their friends. 7) There is no gun gata, but Salt fights as effectively as Preston.

Just watched "The Bourne Ultimatum." While that movie has nothing to do with Wimmer or "Salt" directly, it did make Mira and I wonder ... in an equal fight, who would win, do you think: Jason Bourne or Evelyn Salt?

In an "equal fight", Evelyn Salt would make mince meat out of Jason Bourne. Bourne is from Nixa, Missouri ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nixa,_Missouri ), and he is very gullible, while Salt has a lot of sophistication.

Also just watched "Salt." I think it would be very close. In a fair fight, Bourne would beat Salt; however, in an unfair fight, Salt would beat Bourne.
