This actually looks like a good movie and it's gotten good reviews. Its website also has an exclusive chase scene that's actually pretty well done www.apple.com/trailers/disney/bolt/ . However, I'm tempted to avoid it on principle, being the cartoon nut I am. -First, it's a non-Pixar Disney movie, and Disney betrayed me and any lover of quality family entertainment. -Also, I usually question the necessity of casting easily recognizable actors for cartoons. There are people whose job it is voice cartoons and they're good at it. Mostly it seems to me to be a lazy stunt to get attention, but there some exceptions. It's fine if the actor has a distinctive voice, and John Travolta has a recognizable mumble, but his voice sounds pretty generic here. -Probably the biggest problem is casting Miley Cyrus, the mascot of Disney's fall from grace. But then again, maybe people should go to see this. If it's good, then Disney should be sent a message that it should make more movies like it, rather than Beverly Hills Chihauhua

A bit of good news. It was a good movie. See it in 3D if you can. Also it may be "only Disney" but remember the new head of Disney animation is John Lassiter and his hands were all over this one. I actually read somewhere after I took the kids to see it that Lassiter saw it didn't like it and had some changes made that gave it that Pixar warmth.
BTW the 3D quality just keeps getting better. I foresee a day where all movies will be made in 3D. This was a huge step up from Monster House and from what I saw in the trailers there is some even better 3D stuff coming. Check online for trailers for Coraline and Aliens vs Monsters.

Uggh ... Miley Cyrus ... too bubblegum even for this pop fan. Still, if it's only her voice, that might be bearable.

Possible Spoilers:
I have to say I did not really like it. Not absolutely terrible, but it seemed like an unsuccessful attempt by Disney to regain its former glory.
It had some strengths, though. The animation was high quality. It really knew how to pull on the heartstrings; I have to admit I got a teeny bit choked up in some parts. Maybe I just have a weakness for puppy/child bonding. There was a suspenseful part near the end. However, there was a very sappy pseudo-country song played throughout that made me want to barf.
Unfortunately, it seemed to be recycling some characterizations from Toy Story. Bolt is basically Buzz Lightyear and the cat shared a lot from Jesse from Toy Story 2.
The humor wasn't too good. The hamster had a lot of unsuccessful attempts at self-consciously random dialogue. He seemed like just another funny fanboy type character.
The story was dull and derivative.
