I looked at some pics and read up a bit ... especially with Greyflower's friend Mr Bekmambetov at the helm. I didn't watch a trailer though ... I'm getting kind of tired having to "download the latest QuickTime." Don't tell me there's a new version out since last night.
But I will watch developments of this movie.

This seems like a movie Kurt Wimmer would get a hard on for. I'll be going to see it for sheezy, mah neezys! Seconded. And Mr Wimmer would not be the only one getting, er, excited. Looks like a good cast all the way through. Though I have to say I'm starting to suffer from a bit of Angelina fatigue, I don't know what other major actress could AND would pull that part off well. Famke Janssen, like Uma Thurman, is a little past the age for that sort of athleticism, though she'd make a good choice for another 'gang' member--a counterpart to Freeman's character maybe. Charlize Theron and Carrie-Anne Moss (of "Matrix" fame) don't seem quite right. Kristanna Loken doesn't have the style, and Milla's done with action flicks.

I still don't know. The part calls for a little glamour, I think ... a little different look and style. Of course, I haven't seen Glau in anything but "Serenity." Still, in my book, the best assassin is one who doesn't look like one. As Middle Eastern deathmasters well know.

Interesting ... another series for me to pick up on DVD, when the time arrives.
People criticise my habit of picking up shows on DVD ... but when you compare that price against how much I would have to pay for cable TV just to watch that one or two shows per season I might like, and THEN not be guaranteed to see them all as they were broadcast ... I think it evens out. And I can always re-sell the DVDs on eBay.

You know, I don't know what it is about the film but I watched the trailer and went "meh." I think it will be enjoyable, but it just didn't push my buttons as much as it did my cohorts. Maybe it's because I'm immune to both Jolie and Macavoy.

I just saw it. It was ok. Good action. Humor wasn't that great but it was ok. Good songs and soundtrack. Story was iffy. Sometimes it seemed a little equilibrium-like. The twist is cheesy, but they got a little bit out of it.
It was like Shoot'em Up without the stuff that made me despise Shoot'em Up.

I came into the film expecting a bunch of regurgitated er, well crap. But I actually enjoyed the film! Hooray!
The curved bullet thing would really put a cramp in gunkata. "Through the statistics of thousands of recorded gunfights...." *zap* "Hey, OW!"

hmmm... I saw this a while ago, and somehow I was disappointed. I was really looking forward to this, because I love James McAvoy and Angelina Jolie. and yes, I was aware of the fact that it was going to be an action movie, but... I don't know, it just seemed so average, plot wise. I expected it to be more philosophical. somehow the trailer looked a lot cooler. oh well. I loved the weave thingie from which Morgan Freeman read the future. that made me giggle (not sure of that was intended though, haha)

The graphic novel was better, but would have been entirely too dark for Hollywood. But I think they captured the idea behind the movie fairly well. Super assassin has a complete pansy as a son, son follows in father's footsteps and becomes another super assassin, super assassin comes to grips with reality and realizes potential and kicks the shit out of everyone. LOVE IT!!!
