Wow part 3.
(Like your motto, Serra, as well as your name .... Resistance may never be futile ... against a trained Cleric, however ... it is often ... brief.)

Its an excellent film. Don't bring expectations of a sprawling fantasy. Its actually a war film, with moments of fantasy. Its Del Toro's masterpiece (along with Blade 2 that is).

If it has the same impact as Grave of the Fireflies, then I'll be hooked.

Well, I have been somewhat avoiding this film since I'm certainly not a Del Toro fan. I really dislike most of his films...Blade 2, Hellboy...but this, this really IS his masterpiece. I completely loved it. I've seen it now twice in two days and plan to catch it a few more times.
Now, don't get me wrong. It is not completely original. Homages are obvious to Alice in Wonderland, a host of fairytales, as well as mythology (the "feast" imagery: Ulysses, Narnia...) & games (Silent Hill). But then I love homages or I would not care for EQ. Also I personally like the direct translation of the title much better, "The Labyrinth of the Faun." In my opinion this really is one of the best fantasy films in years but then I love my fantasy world dark (Grimms, Anderson...). By far my favorite film released in 2006 and the only one now in my top 25 favorite films ever.
