This is a Britflick, so I don't know how much of a worldwide distribution it's going to get, but, if you can see this movie, do so! It's billed as "A Romantic Commedy. With Zombies" and it's *very* funny. Shaun of the title is a 29 yearold loser. He's having relationship troubles. He doesn't et on well with his stepdad. He forgot Mother's Day. And he has flatmate troubles. And then there's the Zombies. Yer average shuffling, canabilistic milky eyed undead. One bite from them and you'll be doeing the Thriller shuffle too. What I liked about this film was the exceptionally clever script. It works just as a romantic/sitcom based fiilm as well- all the people and their problems seem really real. Also the plot- I won't give things away, but one of the steadily funny things is watching the build up of the crisis- by watching tiny things the characters miss- headlineson the papers, comments on the TV, you can see the zombies waay before they do. And seeing the real live ITV news caster saying things like "Police urge everyone to stay indoors. Isolate anyone who has been bitten. And if you are attacked, experts say to try and aim for the head, and destroy the brain." Look, just see it if you can, please. It's really really funny. Promise.

I really want to see this, but I'm sooo busy over the next week. I think I'll get to see it on Friday, but it just looks so funny I might have to see it before then. Finally, it looks like we'll have a funny British film without Hugh Grant in it. Hurrah!

It's the film on everybody's must-see list. I was laughing my head off just watching the short trailer on TV ("Excuse me, are you all right? Oh thank god!"), so the film must be infinitely funnier.

I like the punchline on the promotional posters:
Ever get the feeling you're surrounded by zombies?

I like the way they say they've made a new genre - the "rom-zom-com". Just makes me laugh. Deimos

The British film industry is seeing a bit of a revival of late, and the horror genre is at the forefront of development. '28 Days Later' and 'Dog Soldiers' may have set the tone, but 'Shaun of the Dead' really is one of the best British films I have ever seen. This is no 'Sex Lives of the Potato Men' (without a doubt the worst film ever made, in Britain or anywhere else. Gigli is like an Oscar-worthy emotionally charged epic in comparison to SLotPM). You have my guarantee on that! First of all, it's hilariously funny in all the right ways. The comedy varies from some quite subtle things to make you chuckle as well as the obvious slapstick and schlock horror humour. Some great lines in there as well, though I won't spoil them. Secondly, 'Shaun of the Dead' also manages to be really serious in places, with some really sad and poignant moments. Thirdly, even though it's a lampoon of the horror genre, it still manages to have some excellent 'aaargh!' moments to get you leaping out of your seats Finally, the cameos provide a great opportunity to spot some of the UK's most celebrated comic actors, including pretty much the whole cast of Spaced, The Office, Black Books and Little Britain. The comedy film stars of the future? You better believe it! 'Shaun of the Dead' is a great film that manages to make some really serious points and develop its characters (you really care about them, and want to see whether or not they'll survive) while remaining very *very* funny. I LOVE this movie! It's hilarious. I'm a big fan of zombie movies. This one is going to be on my top five zombie movies for a very long time.
