Hey Jen, I don't know if you can contact Kurt Wimmer again, but I was wondering if he is still going to make movies after what happened to UV?
I hope he stays in the biz...sooner or later he will find a studio that "gets" it (probably be an independent one).

I really don't have a clue. I keep checking his page at IMDb and hoping that I'd see something but so far nada. It may take sometime like it did for Andrew Niccol after S1m0ne (which I happen to enjoy quite a bit but most people did not.) Lord of War was more than worth the wait!!!

Whew! So i'm not the only one. On another note, I liked lord of war too, and I had the whole theater to myself on a SATERDAY night interestingly enough.

Yeah, it's unfortunate that Lord of War did not do better in the theaters. It was actually a very good film but due to it's icy reception it remains to bee seen how many films Niccol will get to make.
Makes one wonder if Wimmer will do better. Screenwriters seem to have a somewhat shaky ground unless they get a single studio to back most of their stuff (Tarantino & Miramax).

Tarantino is a genius. Kurt Wimmer did a real good job with equilibrium, but his faults were not leaving it open to a sequal, and his other works are (unfortunately) poor in quality compared to Equilibrium. He's like a music artist. His first few works need refining, he makes an AMAZING sleeper album that, in 5-10 years, EVERYONE will listen to and enjoy. And then he burns out for a bit until he makes another sleeper, or fades away. Lets hope he makes another goodie.

Brandt's face sliding across the floor, rejoining with his body ala T-1000. To be continued!!!

Well just because resistance members stormed a bunch of buildings doesn't mean that its over. Yeah, some prozium factories blew up- so what? It can still continue. There are OTHER clerics and OTHER First Classes and OTHER people still on the dose who will fight back because its all they know. It'd be a civil war- Cleric against Cleric, resistance member against sweeper. It'd be badass.

It'd be a civil war- Cleric against Cleric, resistance member against sweeper. It'd be badass. That's an interesting point...one that ClericWolf, Judas and I have considered in our own fics. Jurgen says, 'once...the Council is leaderless...' and that's the crux of the matter. There would have to be another charismatic leader to continue Father/DuPont's dictatorship, because the average prozium dosed citizen wouldn't have reason to fight...they wouldn't care; and once off the dose (by choice or because their EQ centre was shut down) most wouldn't want to go back on it. OK, a few would cling to to for as long as possible, but in the end they'd see everyone else and follow suit... And the Resistance didn't blow-up a just a few prozium factories...their network was 'larger than you could imagine'. Jurgen knew he had to launch a simultaneous attack on both factories and storage depots so that production and supply would be crippled. Sure, some of the Cleric would continue to fight for awhile, but unless they had someone to take over Father's mantle, even they would begin to question their actions once it was clear there was no Council and the Resistance was no longer 'underground'.
