I just realized that K.W. wrote this movie as well. Did anyone like this film? I thought it was really predictable and boarding, and with a lot of talented actors it still was a mediocre movie at best. Did anyone else like it?
Seems like there should have been more to the script, I wonder if they cut the scrpit up to shorten the film..??,

I actually enjoyed the Recruit and own it. I did hear that the film, though it follows Wimmer's script location wise (character's movement from place to place) did remove some of the more emotional elements that would give the characters resonance.
I still haven't had a chance to buy the script and read those changes. I plan to soon.

THe film wasn't too bad but I also read that alot of the film changed from what Kurt originally wrote in teh script.

I loved it. Then again, I love most movies; I have a tendency to go into things thinking 'Oh, this is going to be crap' so I'm usually pleasantly surprised rather than disappointed LOL! Well, it makes sense in my little world

glad you guys nejoyed it, I just found it so predictable and boaring, as i said before, it had no depth
I would imagine Kurt's original script was not the final product, i like to see what the original looked like

I liked The Recruit a lot. I own it on dvd. I'm a pretty big Colin Farell fan even though I really didnt like Daredevil.
I liked the ending of the recruit but I thought the trailer gave it away.

I liked the ending of the recruit but I thought the trailer gave it away. That trailer was one of the worst offenders yet in that respect. I was so mad after seeing it I wanted to break into Gun Kata. Something needs to be done!! Since when do you need to reveal the entire plot to sell a movie?? I never saw EQ's trailer until after the film and I have to say it was better for it!! Thank you for allowing me my short morning tirade...my children thank you too...

i havent seen the recruit but another movie comes to mind
the bourne identity. the trailer showed all the fight scenes and made the movie [which was already slow paced] even more boring

www.empiremovies.com/posters/swat.shtmlThis looks awesome. Better than the Recruit and the trailer doesn't give away the ending. Here is the premise of the movie. The tables are turned when the Los Angeles Police Department's S.W.A.T. (Special Weapons and Tactics) unit must protect a dangerous criminal. A "grizzled" veteran SWAT officer (Jackson) is given a second chance to cobble together a new SWAT team to protect the high-profile baddie. (source: Variety, 4/18/01) (10/22/01) Talking to Zap2It, Ayer confirms that the premise involves a "Pablo-Escobar-type" criminal who puts out an offer of $100 million to anyone who can break him out of jail. (9/27/02) Olivier Martinez plays the criminal in question. (11/15/02) Page Kennedy plays the partner-in-crime of Renner's character, who's a S.W.A.T. team member turned to a life of crime.

I have a feeling that will be a good movie, but recent cops and robbers movies have been terrible, basically since HEAT, I have not seen a good one.
I was really hoping the master of them would be doing a new one for his next project, but Uma Thurman as an assassin, that’s pretty cool too. Incase you did not figure out that I think the best cops and robber movie ever made was Reservoir Dogs

SWAT looks terrible, the trailer does give parts away.
but you can never judge a movie based on its trailer
Resivor Dogs was his first movie right?

The trailer gives away the plot which makes you want to see it. It doesn't give away what is gonna happen in the movie though.

the trailer shows what goes wrong and how the prisoner escapes from police custody
that ruins a lot for me

Resivor Dogs was his first movie right? It was his first MAJOR film, he had made a small "student" film before that one, however it was a very short and not actually released in any form. I have searched far and wide with no luck in locating it. Keep in mind there were no “real” actors, and only students. basicly, his first full feature film PLUS, Tim Roth could be one of the best British actors ever.... excluding Mr. Preston of course

I WOULD LIKE THE " RECRUIT" MORE IF
CHRISTIAN BALE STARRED IN IT. I THINK COLIN'S
ROOKIE SPY ROLE SHOULD HAVE BEEN OFFERED TO CB.
I WOULD HAVE WATCHED IT A COUNTLESS TIMES AS
I'VE WATCHED EQ.

I actually didn't find it predictable (maybe because i have the poorest imagination ever) and I loved it! It was really a movie that made me *shudder* at the end and think of all the other possible endings. Anyhew...colin Farrell...

Well, I like the story and I like Al Pacino. But the reason why I watched it because of its hunky blonde co-star Gabriel Macht. I had a crush on him since I watched Bad Company. (He played Zach in The Recruit)

I liked pretty much all the acting in this movie. I didn't find the story predictable at all. The ending was a HUGE twist to me. Pacino did it so well.
