And this time, give the man a budget FFS!!!
Hopefully he'll be able to capture the magic from Equilibrium & avoid what happened with Ultraviolet & put it into Metal Gear Solid. It will also give him another opportunity for gun kata!

Well I also heard rumors that Bale is in talks to play the legendary solidsnake . Man if you want some one to play the most complex characters you get Bale ;D. Add this one to his list now he is Bruce wayne, John Conner and solidsnake. I know he just in talks but you know he'll get it.

If this happens, I'll have a heart attack from the goodness of it.
It's good to see Wimmer's getting work. This could be the first truly good video game movie.

Yeah but if he does direct it he is going to have to go Michael Bay on it. He can not make a film this action packed and coplexed storywise into a 80min film. If he makes it it should be at least 150 - 160 mins long. That is the only way you can be faithful to the story and the game.

Producer Mike De Luca says that rumors of Kurt Wimmer ("Equilibrium") directing the film adaptation of "Metal Gear Solid" is false - "Kurt is like one of many people we're talking to about pitching us back a take on adapting the franchise. He hasn't been hired or anything" he says... www.collider.com/entertainment/interviews/article.asp/aid/7418/tcid/1Read from the bottom of that first page to the 2nd page.

As much as I hate to say this I hope kurt (if they give the rights to him) does not put in the gun-kata art in MGS. I know I can't believe I said that but I am also a die hard MGS fan and I think only one person that should be doing that art and that is John preston not Solid Snake. Snake is down and dirty if he had the gun-kata fighting style no one could ever touch him.

I agree; the MGS is based on sneakiness. I still hope KW directs it; he has other talents..

So far in wikipedia and other reoprts say that he id the Co-Writer and now Director to the film. If this is true I can't wait but this film better be 2&1/2 hours cause there is too much stroy and too much action for it to be short. And as talented as Bale is I think he would be miscasted as Solid Snake if anyone should play him it should be Hugh Jackman. He is a good actor and he fits the role perfectly.

Hope Wikipedia isn't posting a rumor.
