Just seen Equilibrium, and i have to say i was blown away. Serious hair on the back of the neck standing on end stuff...
I've had a quick look through the forum, but there seems to be a serious ammount of info here and i dont know where to start... If anyone could help that'd be great...
Ok, one question - are there any other films with the gun kata stuff in?

Also, i'm interested in the idea of combining the gun kata stuff with other more melee combat ideas... 2 guns combined with a sword, or staff etc... How do you think that would work...
Also, any good images of this kinda stuff would be good... I skimmed a thread on cyberpunk GunFu, are there any good pics of that?
...god i feel like a total newbie...

haha, unlike most forums we arent mean to "noobs" around these parts. just assholes.
-i suggest you paruse around these gun-kata forums for a while. a lot of the things you are interested in have been discussed, are being discussed, or at least have been touched on.
-also, introduce yourself in the introductions thread so that other people can know you are around to answer your questions.

Hi, LegionXS! WELCOME! You asking about GunKata? It's fantastic fight art, made by Kurt Wimmer and some another people. So, no films with GunKata except Equilibrium. go to this page www.gunkatta.com/home.htm It's interesting! How you find Equilibrium?)))))

I'll quickly run down the "quickedy quick" answers for your questions... quickly...
... did I mention they were going to be quick?
Right; as for question 1: No, there are no other movies with Gun-Kata in them - Equlibrium was the first, and there hasn't been any since. Kurt Wimmer is however going to incorporate it into his NEXT film - Ultraviolet (in production).
Question 2: No, since Cyberpunk 2020 is a roleplaying game (not a computergame or boardgame) there is only whatever graphics is included in the player's guide (or whatever it's called...). And I'm afraid I've seen / heard nothing about such pictures.
There migiht be some fan art out there though... google thine rear off, sir ;D

cheers guys, appreciate it. I bought equilibrium almost by accident - i was just wandering into a shop with intention of getting the matrix reloaded and EQ caught my eye. I ended up getting that instead - i dont regret it either Its a shame those gunkata computer images are a bit crap really, isnt it? I'll be sure to have a look around - i noticed a thread somewhere round here with a load of gunkata influenced movies - i'm definitely interested in seeing them

Its a shame those gunkata computer images are a bit crap really, isnt it? Whaddya mean? If it's the first part of the move, the black shootout scene you mean, I don't actually believe it's computer rendered... Most people around here just theorize that it's the strobe lights that creates this 'artificial' look when he moves his arms. There's next to no computer rendering in the gun kata scenes of the movie at all. The only thing they rendered is actually the muzzle fire of his guns. If it's the images on the computer screen during the gun kata training scene you're referring to, then yes, those are just about useless :-)

Heh. I believe that might be the out of the box default model in Poser (3-d modeling software) with some slight modification. I'm showing my age here in that the last version I actually worked with was around version 3. But people in the biz do refer to the default model as the "Poser Dork." Curious Labs now owns Poser, and it's much more sophisticated and when tweaked looks much more professional.
