I have noticed that several forums discuss what guns are actually used in Equilibrium, including the Gun Kata website. For those of you who aren't sure, the Cleric's guns are modified Beretta 92FS 9x19mm Parabellum pistols. They were adapted to be similiar to those of the movie Robocop where they used a Beretta M93R-AG Modified.
I am not sure but I believe that the same person who made the guns in the movie trilogy "Aliens" also made the guns for this movie because they have similiar qualities (pistol slide, magazine, etc.)

Hey thanks for the info Jim. I didn't realize the guns were similar to the ones in Robocop.

Well, the only similarity that I can see, is the fact that both weapons are modified Berettas. The included photo shows a comparison... *shrugs*

the other weapons mainly used were:
by the sweeper teams: standard 12 gage shotguns with mod grips, probibly mossembergs or remingtons.
by almost any goverment linked agency: the assault rifles were HK G36.
by the guards out side prestons apartmend: FN P90.

There was also an MP5K sub-machine gun. It was used by one of the guys on the motorcycle during the warehouse raid. I also recall seeing a guy wielding a MP5A3 during the movie. Then there were other guns that I have forgotten the names for. Im gonna have to look those up.

You know whats weird. On the scene where the officers kill those dogs, the one shooting them is shooting them with a Walther WA2000, which is a sniper rifle. It was pretty funny when I first saw it, cause im a gun freak and I know like every gun ever made. But it looks like a very futuristic gun so I can understand why they used it.

you know what's bothering me, I went to a gun shop the other day just to see what a 92fs looked like...and damn, it's pretty big to fit in your sleeves...
maybe they used a different model?

your right skippy. I carry a 92F everyday and I don't think I could hide it in my sleve! I gave this point to artistic liscense and the highlander rule of movies.

no kidding? is it for your line of work or for personal safety (if i may ask)? i did hear though that there are smaller versions of the 92fs (92fs-centurion and 92fs-compact) but still... did you notice that sometimes he draws them from under his coat (like just before the dark room shootout and just before the pistol whipping scene), while other times they drop from his sleeves? i'd almost thought that maybe they had 2 sets of guns - one for heavy duty use, like raids in the nether, and one for "everyday" use, like raids within libria...what do you think? although i agree, it *is* kinda like the highlander rule

I don't mind skippy. I'm a Military Policeman in the U.S. Navy. I'm currently stationed in Japan. The 92F or M-9 is our standard sidearm.
The two set {heavy duty/Light duty}makes sense. I've seen Some way way small 9mm's but those are more along the lines of the beretta couger, not teh centurion lines.

Hey Gualie, since you are in Japan is there any way you could get a Japanese EQ poster or point me in the right direction. I'm looking for a regular/larger size since I already have the mini one?

they were all full sized berretas, this is just a movie now so not everything has to make sense. and IIRC the robocop was a modified berreta 93, the clerics pistols were berreta 92s (you can make any autoloading gun go full auto, so just because its full auto doesnt make it a 93)
they also used walther MPLs (most common subgun), and it appears berreta assault rifles (most of the guys in the long black coats used them)
the WA2000 didnt have a scope on it, so i assume that they were just supposed to be used as a regular gun, not as a sniper rifle. probably just used for its futuristic appearance, and since they didnt have the money no real modifying

gota say your wrong on the assault rifles. It's the HK G36. check www.world.guns.ru/assault/as14-e.htm and you'll be able to see that it's the rifle used by the sweepers. also listen to the commentary, kurt identifies it because he wanted FN P90's but couldn't import them. they only had a couple of plastic non-firing ones.

Hey, has anyone here seen Jackie Chan's 'City Hunter'? Richard Norton is part of the cast and he uses this gun very similar to Robocop's gun. Check this out, I managed to find a cool pic of it in the net. LoL. Forget about that picture on the right. It's part of the pic of Richard Norton.

They also use FnP90 and when mary points the gun at preston it looks like a glock. theres also mp5a4 mp5k. At the beggening the rescistance uses Ak47s and 74.some uzis too and or mayb mac 10\11. They have principaly guns from Germany since the movie was made there. And italians guns too. They also have small compact guns but i cant figure out what they are.Mayb Ump's

Actually, although the Sweeper's do use AR-70s, in the shot where Preston disables the sweeper by twisting his gun-wrist outwards, the gun is most definitely an AR-15 of some sort, perhaps added later when an AR-70 was no longer accessible.
