Something I should've mentioned a long time ago.. I've studied in Japan for a year, and the Japanese school uniforms kinda resemble the style the clerics wear. It is similar to the white dress uniform, only in black. (suit with mandarin collar) When you look for it on the internet, look for the word "seifuku" or "sei fuku". Ignore the hentai (cartoon porn) pages, and you'll find some pictures or shops that sell 'm. They usually don't ship international though. Here's some pictures, but these are really crappy and do no justice to the uniforms. I'll take some pictures later of my own uniform and post 'm here. (mine looks way better, it has silver buttons, yeah!)

I should have gone to a different school in Japan. Yes I also lived there, for four years even. We moved back to the Netherlands in '89, a year before a huge earthquake devastedt our home town of Kobe. Anyways, I attended an INternational school there (Canadian Accademy, if anyone knows it) no uniforms, and not a single wordt of Japanese in class.. I DID pick up English however, wich is quite usefull. if not, more usefull in the world nowadays.

Goeiemorgen/middag/avond Sinni! I'm also from Holland, this is so cool! So how come you ended up in Japan? I attended the Naga and Seirin high schools, both in Wakayama (about 70km from Osaka) I've been there from 2000 to 2001 as an exchange student thru the YFU.
anata no nihongo ha doudesuka? Mine's terrible actually.. Looking back I should've studied much harder!

Wow, I never imagine such many people have been in Japan before. I'm Japanese, so Cleric style clothing is very familiar with me. I should have gone to a different school in Japan. Yes I also lived there, for four years even. We moved back to the Netherlands in '89, a year before a huge earthquake devastedt our home town of Kobe. Did you live in Kobe? Kobe is near from my hometown. Yes we had a huge earthquake in '95. >sabeltandcavia You look so cool! (^-^) Didn't you say that uniform "Gakuran"? We call boys' school uniform "Gakuran", not all uniforms but have Chinese high collar. All you have had nice time in Japan? It's very closed country and nationality, so I imagine not everything was great for you. But if you like my country, I'm very happy

That's not me on that picture, Alex.. I still have to take some pictures of me wearing that unifrom, hopefully you can see it better.
'Gakuran', thanks! I completely forgot that word! Man my Japanese is bad now...
My favorite word used to be Ohhaaaaa!!! It was from some kid's song, and all the little kids from the neighbourhood used to say it.. pretty cool.
Oh yeah, and mukatsuku of course.. that must be one of the first words you learn when you go to high school in Japan, lol..
Yeah, I had some hard times in japan too, mostly culturally related, but looking back at my time there, I feel like most of those problems were my own fault anyways and they could easily have been avoided.
Japan's a great country, and if everything goes to plan I'm going back there after college to work there for a year. ((eigo-no-sensei... crap, that's what all the gaijin do there, isn't it?)) ;D
