8-)I just finished watching the film last night and had a great idea. Could there be a second film? An evil ruler or something could surface and take over the world, making people take 'no emotion' drug by means of slavery and punnishment. John Preston could be an outlaw, who fights out against him with his band of friends. What do you guys think?  |

Well, since it didn't earn as much as The Matrix and the
likes, I don't think there will be an EQ 2 since it was
(EQ 1) released on limted basis.
But I would love a part two of it,why not?
Actually, I was addicted and still addicted to that movie.
I watched it many times in theaters.

This might not be a popular opinion but it's mine. I don't think there should be a EQ2. The reason being that we have seen over and over sequels being made of a popular/audience drawing movie only to have a bunch of wannabe's and trytobe's hitting the screen. I don't know if another was made if it would have the same impact, the same force behind it. EQ in my opinion is a stand alone movie. To make a sequel or prequel that would be as strong and as exciting might not only be hard, but possibly impossible. This movie is pefection, with all it's goofs and minor flubs. To try to contiune it would, in my opinion be a huge mistake. dev  |

Since your question is more from a continuing story perspective I think there are a number of ways it could go. At first I didn't really think so after seeing the film but then when I read some of the fan fictions contributed here I have changed my mind. There is any number of directions that an EQ2 storyline could go. Personally though I'd like to see more of a groundwork type of story...creation of the Gun Kata, Clerics, Father coming into power...but only through Wimmer's vision & interpretation on the subject. I'd hate to ever see it become some kind of Hollywood conglomerate, committee manufacture scheme to rope in as many demographics as possible. |

If they do it, I hope that Kurt Wimmer stars in it as the main character, his acting in the first one was superb.  |

I have a fairly decent idea for a story as sequel to the movie, but I'm going to try and get it done in a computer game format as a mod for Max Payne 2. As I've seen the movie numerous times now, I've had a good chance to think about the next "logical" thing that could happen to Preston. Hopefully, I'll get a chance to get it made or at least started within the next 6 months.... |
