I'm thinking that a video game based on the adventures of John Preston, perhaps maybe even a prequel to the movie's events as said in a different thread, would be an awesome idea and would make one game company lotsa cash.
here are my ideas
EQUILIBRIUM- THE GRAMMATON CLERIC CHRONICLES-
Third person action adventure
John Preston is the player's character, starting with his years as a junior cleric, leading up to the events of the movie, and his eventual takeover of the Tetra-Grammaton.
action would be in real time, including shootouts, disarms, reversals, bone breakage, close-quarters meleé combat with either bare hands or the clip spikes, and gun kata sequences played out like PaRappa the Rapper, requiring the player to press the correct buttons in the correct sequence in order to perform the gun kata. All of the weapons from the movie will be in the game, as well as all the different clips. Sword fighting would also play a role.
Another idea would be the ability to use your Prozium Delivery System as a weapon. I've always wanted to see what would happen to a person if they overdosed on Prozium. ;D
What do you guys think?

(snip) Third person action adventure (snip) What do you guys think? I think if you invest in a copy of Max Payne 2 (Third Person Action), then probably sometime next year a Equilibrium Mod for it will be freely available over the net. No offense dude, but a game takes a TON of effort and I've never seen a fan-made game turn out good in the end. And since Equilibrium isn't really very popular, I doubt any big name company would pick up on it.You should try making a game. I can't begin to tell you how much work goes into making a Tetris clone, Pong, or Space Invaders (i began all those projects expecting quick results ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) ). Making a modern game is really beyond anything you could just hope for from a few developers. It's a nice idea, but the most you can really hope for is a mod for another game. And that would just be the weapons and a few character models at most.

First off, You are 100% correct about the time and effort that goes into an original game. It would be nearly impossible considering most of us have full time jobs and cant really do that. I also agree that a mod is our best chance, and so that is why we are creating the mod now, well in the progress anyways. What I have to disagree with is that game companies wont pick up this film, or at least incorporate Gun Kata into a full-fledged original game. I would actually imagine a few game companies already working on it now. I have a friend who is a low level programmer at EA and he has given me information about the EA studio contacting Dimension films about a possible movie based game,(in nagotiations for the licence) I cant say for sure if it was EQ, but since Dimension has not put out too many films in the past 2 years... well there is a chance its EQ In any event I think it’s only a matter of time before an established or new game company makes an original EQ game.

Haha I wasn't expecting US to create an Equilibrium game. I know I couldn't possible meake a next-gen title--- I have enough trouble with flash games. But I hope that EA picks up the license. While I'm not the biggest EA supporter, I'd definitely play an Equilibrium game.
