Right you-all ... OK, JenGe hasn't gone live with "Roses For Maria" yet, but I already feel another story brewing ... any interest out there in a story about Father and Dupont ... how they got where they were in the movie, how Dupont, maybe, was originally a true believer in Father but came round to believing that he could get away with sense-offence privately? Father especially has started to haunt me lately ... battle fatigue from "the army" maybe ... ;D OK, give it up for Father and Dupont ... anyone?

Run with it! ;D If you haven't already, you might want to read the script posted on main site, it has some stuff that wasn't in the movie...

Yes ... this is rather alternate, though ... it would be a longer story, maybe novella-length like the other ... I see both Father and Dupont as originally well-intentioned men who went wrong bit by bit, almost imperceptibly ... of whom it might be said that by trying to save Libria they destroyed it ...

Sounds suitably intriguing - you know anything you write I'm going to read.

It sounds like a good idea, I'd definitely say run with it and see where it leads you

I agree...see where it leads. Whilst I think Father did indeed have pure motives, I'm pretty sure DuPont was hatching his Machiavellian schemes from the beginning.

Yep, like in House of Cards...Father was dedicated to building his vision...but I think along the way that vision blurred.

Yes ... but with all respect, Senior Wolf, this would be a more extended treatment than "House of Cards." (Which I liked, by the way.) I don't have your talent for terse action writing ... I am more keyed to extended, nuanced treatment ... "Roses For Maria" will show that, it's 12 installments of 10 pages each ... I sent the first installment to JenGe, I think, a week ago yesterday ... I'm sure she'll get it up ASAP.

That's good, if we all wrote the same way there'd be no reason to enjoy someone elses' work And thank you for the compliment House of Cards is very old by now of course. Ashes I and II are my favourite own pieces set in the EQUniverse, but even Ashes I is fairly old I suppose. I am looking forwards to the nuanced treatment of Roses, because I like to experience a wide array of emotional journies through the characters - if you can engage me that way, then you've certainly done the job as far as I'm concerned.
