This Friday night I decided to have some fun and installed a trial version of an old video cutting prog I had lying around someplace. 24 hours and little sleep later, I had my first vid, but then the rendering nightmare started... now it's finally finished.

The trial version doesn't support MPEG2, so I had to work with MPEG4, with the result that I had to struggle with compression artifacts cropping up here and there, in a not entirely reproducible manner. Hence WYSIWYNG - What You See Is What You'll NOT Get. Although I got rid of most of them via little fade in/outs, there is still one of these ugly artifacts left, but it's the best I'm going to get. Another 24 hours and just as little sleep later, I just decided to throw in the towel.

- Fairly decent quality AVI file encoded in XviD (39 MB). You will need the XviD Codec for Media Player to play the file.
- Crappy WMV file (11.6 MB). The WMV file looks squashed though, because the prog doesn't support wide screen encoding. ETA: Forget about this version, I've got a better one now:
- Nifty WMV file (11 MB). If you can live with a couple of dropped frames towards the end. The quality is good though, and the aspect ratio correct.
