Okay…I saw this on a different board and thought it might be fun to try here with an Equilibrium theme I don't know if you'd call it Deathmatch or Survivor or what, but…well…I'll try to explain :
The backstory is this: a group of Resistance fighters have barricaded themselves in a section of the Underground. They are surrounded by the Tetra Grammaton, and although the latter can't get to them, the rebels can't leave either. Among this rebel group are two Clerics on Prozium and one sense offending Cleric, all three of which are undercover. The rebels have no idea that there are any Clerics among them, and the two on Prozium and the sense offender don't know each other either. The two Clerics have orders to demoralise the Resistance as much as possible but can't just open fire on the lot indiscriminately (the Council wants rebels for questioning). Every twenty four hours, an attack is made and (so long as it isn't voided) one character dies. The immediate exception to this is the very first kill, which is the only NPC, just to stop a character dying before they've even gotten started.
The sense offending Cleric is responsible, from the first kill onwards, for guarding one person; again, they can PM me to let me know who. This has to change each time, otherwise they might inadvertently end up guarding one of the Clerics the whole time and bringing the game to a complete standstill.
Both Clerics on Prozium will know who the other is (for obvious reasons). The Clerics have to decide between themselves which character they're going to attack and PM me to let me know. Assuming there's nothing voiding that attack, the character will die and be out of the game (obviously)
Voiding:
An attack can be voided a number of ways. Firstly, if the Clerics decide to attack the sense-offending Cleric; no player will be injured, but the attack will fail.
Secondly, if the Clerics decide to attack a player who's being guarded by the sense offending Cleric.
Thirdly, if the sense offending Cleric is guarding one of the Clerics; they work as a team, so if one is guarded, the other won't attack.
(It's probably worth noting that while everybody involved will know the attack was foiled, nobody will know why…just to keep the mystery going So if the sense offending Cleric guards someone and nothing happens, have they saved a rebel or just stopped a Cleric?)
Removing:
Every time after a kill, those still alive vote for the person they think is responsible. The person with the most votes is thrown out to the Tetra Grammaton outside. The Clerics (all three) can avoid being killed by Gun-Kata, but if they get voted off, are still out of the game; the two on the dose because their cover has, in effect, been blown and the sense offender leaves because of the rebels' ingratitude. Either way, the rebels are going to know they've got rid of a Cleric.
Voting:
It's done on a majority, each player writes a bit where their character accuses someone else. (Eg: John Smith the rebel stared at Chris Bunion and said, "Of course! You said you were with the Tetra Grammaton ages ago! You're still on the dose. I think you killed that person!") You can edit and change your votes as many times as you like up to the deadline, but once that's come, all bets are off
NPCs:
Anyone who's not playing an actual character can join in outside as an NPC, following these basic rules:
1. The character has to be outside. The Resistance group is sealed in, and the Tetra Grammaton aren't likely to let anyone past
2. The character can't offer any help to the ones inside, or any hints, purely because they don't know. No sense offender knows what's going on in there and the Tetra Grammaton would hardly be interested in keeping them alive.
Narrator:
The narrator (ie me) basically moves things along, writes about the killings and the 'evictions'. One little thing: there is one NPC with the group whose job it is to get killed first, mainly so nobody dies on the first round.
One main rule. The character you play cannot be registered as a Cleric or Vice-Council, sense offender or otherwise, although sweepers and the like are fine. There are no Vice-Councils and the only Clerics are the ones listed above, otherwise it doesn't make much sense—all the victims could just Gun-Kata their way out and it wouldn't be much of a mystery. I will PM three characters at random, one to be the sense offending Cleric and two to be the ones on Prozium.
Winning: Obviously, the Resistance win if they get rid of both the Clerics. The Clerics win if the number of Resistance fighters equals theirs (ie, two Clerics, two rebels).
If you want in, post character details below (you don't have to write a novel, just a name, gender and approximate age will do. Same goes for playing; there's no minimum or maximum limit).
