I love the soundtrack, it was the first thing I thought about when I left the cinema. I really, really wish you could buy it...*sigh*

I know what you mean. I'm actualy quite into movie soundtracks and EQ had one of the best I've heard for a while. It's the mixture of styles that stands it out. Whereas action movies right now are all on a Goth-Rock trip, (it worked for the Matrix, but the rest are just copying.) EQ took a very different and diverse route. One moment you've got an almost Gergorian vocal chant sending chills down your spine, then the next moment the fast and furious action music kicks in. I REALLY hate the fact that you can't buy this music anywhere. Even if it wasn't linked to EQ, I'd still buy it. It stands on it's own, even without the film. Not many sountracks can say that.

I ripped the audio track from the DVD's closing credits, normalized it in SoundForge, and converted it to a 224kbps MP3. It's 6 1/2 minutes long and weighs in at 10.4MB. The sound quality is amazing. Unfortunately, I have nowhere to host the file. Can anyone here provide Web or FTP space?

Since the soundtrack hasn't been released yet you've placed me in a bit of a copyright quandary. I'm already pushing it as it is. I'll have to think on this and get back to you.

If you already own the DVD, you should be able to download the MP3 under "Fair Use" since you could also choose to record the track yourself from your own DVD. However, IANAL. Anyway, If they ever plan to release the soundtrack, I will be purchasing it. In the meantime, the "Klaus Badelt Medley" from the credits will have to suffice in the meantime.

Ya, I don't mind people having it or even if it was available on another website. In fact, I would link to it in a heartbeat.
My worry is more about my site getting shut down. I think freewebs even has a rule against MP3's but I'd better go check to make sure.

The soundtrack was amazing. No other soundtrack left that much of an impression on me since Gladiator and LOTR. Hopefully we'll be seeing some kind of a release in the near future.

Badelt has been around for a while actualy. hes worked under score guru Hans Zimmer ( THe rock, Gladiator, Black Hawk Down etc.) for a loooong time.
My fav score from Badelt is his work for 2002's Time Machine. hes done other work for EQ ofcourse, K-19: the widowmaker, Gladiator, Invincible, and the upcoming Pirates of the Carabean.

Wow, I had no idea they worked closely together. Hopefully, Pirates of the Carribean should be good (the movie and the soundtrack).

The latest trailer actually gave me some hope. Badelt is also scoring Ned Kelly which I intend on seeing just to gawk at Ledger. The Recruit soundtrack is scored by Badelt as well and is very good. There are a few rifts simular to EQ though not nearly as powerful. You can check out some samples from The Recruit here... www.towerrecords.com/product.aspx?pfid=2766468&cc=USD

Email me the wav. file and I'll see what I can do... I might be able to sneak it in as a streaming media.
