I dont know what language this is, and I'm hoping someone here knows and can tell me. I think its Japanese, but I'm not entirely sure. So, guess what this translates too. Hint, it has something to do with Equilibrium. i150.photobucket.com/albums/s107/JMLutsch/Text.jpg

That's japanese without a doubt .. though I cannot provide any hints towards a meaning, I'd guess it says "Equilibrium" in japanese or something down the lines of that ? Perhaps the movie title in japanese ? (I haven't used japanese in ages so yeah ..)

It looks very much like hiragana, if that helps ...

I'll give you a hint: It's a quote from Equilibrium. By the way, I'm fairly certain the language comes from Taiwan. Isn't that japanese?

I'm guessing "Not Without Incident" perhaps??? Taiwan is China not Japan. I knew saying it was a quote would give away too much. yep, it means 'Not Without Incident,' and if Taiwan is China then I'm fairly certain this is Chinese.

The text that he pasted, that is. Not chinese.

Well, not so fast ... Taiwan WAS owned by Japan for many years (1895-1945). Before that it was owned by China from 1683 to 1895. Before that it was under its own rulers, when not impinged upon by Dutch and Portuguese colonists. The native language of Taiwan isn't Chinese, but a language in the "Austronesian" family. Remember, too, that Japanese can be written in Chinese characters; in fact, this how Japanese writing (kanji) began.

I stand corrected. Well, not so fast. It depends on whom you reckon with. The Japanese have given up their claim. The Chinese haven't. The native Taiwanese, some scholars think, might also have their own opinion.
