As of today, according to BoxOfficeMojo.com, UV has brought in $30,699,646, so it has met its production budget of $30 million and is headed into the black--despite everything that SG did to screw up its promotion and mutilate the story. So Kurt Wimmer is in a bit stronger position to do what he wants in the future. Hats off, and smoke 'em if you got 'em!

That's good to hear. I must get hold of the DVD - I haven't seen the film yet but it's top of my "must see" list. I'm hoping my local library will get a copy - they are very good at getting up to date and varied DVD titles and it only costs £2.60 to borrow one for a whole week!

Film Studios only get like half of the gross of the film. The theatres usually keep up to 40% of ticket sales. Plus marketing for UV, despite its crapiness was probably a couple million.

As of this writing, UV has topped $35M in video rentals ... clearly on its way to becoming a solid favourite of those discerning few who don't form their tastes on the basis of what critics drivel on about ...

As I have stated in the past Sci/fi films that are usually hated at first have long, healthy lives...Demolition Man, Star Ship Troopers, Flash Gordon...
