JenGe, With your permission I would like to discuss the differences between the test screening of ULTRAVIOLET and the "final cut" once it's released in theaters. I get the feeling we're going to have a lot to talk about.

I get the feeling we're going to have a lot to talk about. I'd be all for that. I would especially like to know what got cut out for the PG-13 rating.

I think the PG-13 rating and what happened in the months between those early screenings and the final release date will be ripe for conversation. While I wouldn't exactly defend the movie that I watched earlier this year, I believe a filmmaker should have the right to refine his vision until he is absolutely happy with what he's accomplished - naysayers be damned.

... I believe a filmmaker should have the right to refine his vision until he is absolutely happy with what he's accomplished - naysayers be damned. The problem though is that this particular filmmaker has repeatedly stated that he is not interested in making PG-13 films so that means the film being released is really not "his vision" at all but more of a "studio cut."

You are 100% correct on that one. That's what I wanted to talk about but I'll wait until I see Screen Gem's "Ultraviolet" before going into anything.

That is also why I would like to talk about it as well since all I'm going to get to see is what gets released in the theaters unless they allow a "director's/extended/unrated cut" sometime in the future.

I see you got through!! It's great to have you back!!! I think that most of us feel the exact same way. It's kind of ironic though considering that EQ in many ways is actually about the MPAA ratings.
