comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=13365As we were shown the tricky technical moves for Jovovich, Smith told us, "Most of these fights were choreographed for when we originally started off it was rated R. Because of marketing, I believe it's now rated PG-13. So I'm sure some of the moves like chopping heads off and arms and lots of blood are probably gone." see it was supose to be R !!! i pray to god they give us an extended version on dvd

I hope we get the R rated version on a dvd though. It would be a shame if it just gets lost in a black hole in space or something... Why is there no interview with Kurt yet? All we get is the trainers and the Stunt Coordinator talking. And milla ofcourse!!! But where is Kurt? He needs to make some things clear! He wasnt in the featurette either. Come on this is Kurt's film!

Come on this is Kurt's film! I highly doubt the version being released on Friday is really HIS film.

According to bloody disgusting (http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/review.php?id=497) it was kind of a bad film with good action sequences and good soundtrack, I’m guessing 2 hours long. Now according to Rottentomatoes it has been cut to 88 minutes.
I’m pretty much sure the miracle of editing has been done and we can all expect it to be a good PG-13 action film since all producers involved will expect to make a penny or two out of it.
The real Wimmer film will arrive after the unavoidable double dip.

It will be interesting to see exactly how much non-action material gets cut. If the film's gone from around 2 hours to 88 minuits, then it can't all be due to the removal of the severed limbs. There must be some plot/dialouge/charactor stuff that's been snipped as well. Theres no way to know if that's a good or a bad thing until we can compare the two versions. I just think it's interesting. At the end of the day, (Excuse the Wimmerism ) the best way to ensure we get Ultraviolet:Ultraviolent Edition DVD is to make UV as big a box office and DVD sucess as we can. Studios understand Money, and only money.

Test screenings suggest there were a lot of random sequences that had nothing to do with the plot and featured a lot of bad acting (I recall a detective character). I'm assuming Wimmer and the studio has cut as much of the plot as possible, since test audiences were not reacting well to it.
Another thing I'm wondering is whether there will be multiple languages being spoken in the film as the leaked clip indicated or if that has been dubbed.
