WOOHOO!!! Kurt Wimmer's got Badelt again!! I was hoping that Klaus Badelt would end up scoring Ultraviolet but lately he's been doing quite a number of high end films so I wasn't sure how likely this would be until I was skimming his page at IMDb. Low & behold, there's UV listed. I didn't what to get my hopes up too high so I went Googling and lookie what I found!!!

Oh, I also what to mention that hopefully Screen Gems/Sony will be smart enough to release this one. I now own two of Badelt's soundtracks (The Recruit & Pirates) and he is fast becoming one of my favorite film composers along with Zimmer, Trevor Jones, John Barry, & Philip Glass. I'll gladly pay for EQ several times over once it is released. I still hope that it will not take as long as Blade Runner's did (10 years).

I also want to mention that picture since it really is the first time I believe that we see Violet in context with the set & I have to say that I really do like it a lot!!! I love that lighting on the wall. It's sooooo EQ!! That's one of the things I really loved about Equilibrium. The use of lightling almost like a paintbrush. If you are not really looking for it though it's a detail that can easily slip by you.

Klaus Badelt is cool. EQ is my favorite soundtrack after Star Wars. Pirates of the Caribean is good, too.

There are a few cut that are reminiscent of EQ's. He's quickly becoming one of my favorite film composers. I'm always keeping an ear out for new talent. I'm more than thrilled that he's working on UV!!

Klaus Badelt is phenomenal. He is definitely one of my favorite composers along with Hans Zimmer, Harry Gregson-Williams, Marco Beltrami, Trevor Rabin, James Newton Howard and few others. Steve Jablonsky is another great composer IMO...and I just love Badelt's "Time Machine."
I love the pic.
