Hi there. Just found that. www.hans-zimmer.com/fr/index.phpscroll down, there is an mp3 (low quality) of the opening score of Ultraviolet. There are no plans for releasing the soundtrack, as we already know. Seems, that at least the music used by screen gems was indeed Klaus Badelt's. Cause after all that butchering, I started thinking even if the music was badelt's as well. Well that opening score is really nice although it does sound like spiderman's opening credits. I loved the music used in the blood chinois sequence and the library fight. brilliant! I wonder what other people that worked on UV thought of the cut. I guess Klaus is a friend of Wimmer, has he seen it? Is it his music used throughtout the whole movie? What does Mike Smith have to say about it? He must be heartbroken too. Milla said in an interview she never watches her own movies, so we dont know if she even saw UV yet. And she hasnt seen wimmer for quite some time now... Nodoby is talking about the cut though. I guess its part of their contract, to just promote the film. Kurt has to speak first, I guess. We need explanations for this. Is it all true? or are they all rumors?

Excellent find!!! Coke for you... I think it may be sometime before we hear anything official. The closes thing we have right know is what Wimmer told Moriarty. That's about it.

You, know I just listened to that single piece and I'm ticked they are not going to release this score either. What is wrong with these studios? Why do they tie stuff like this up!!??

Milla said in an interview she never watches her own movies, so we dont know if she even saw UV yet. And she hasnt seen wimmer for quite some time now... "she never watches her own movies" then the commentary track just magically appeared on the dvd? Okay, I know that she meant that she doesn't watch them in her spare time. And knowing that there's a commentary track on UV dvd, then she has seen it. And somebody might remember something that she said about kurt not delivering the promises made during production, so it seems that she doesn't even know about the things at screen gems, just pissed off at the result.

Wasn't Klaus Badelt a sort of apprentice to Hans Zimmer at one time? Personally I actually preferred the Klaus Baldelt POTC1 score. I also bought the POTC2 Hans Zimmer score recently, which was okay, but nothing really grabbed me from this like the first one did. A pity really because ordinarily I really admire Zimmer's work - I absolutely loved his beach theme from True Romance.

Wasn't Klaus Badelt a sort of apprentice to Hans Zimmer at one time? They still work together. Badelt is featured quite often on Zimmer's official site... 2006, June 10
Klaus BADELT working on MIAMI VICE

Interesting...I just looked up Miami Vice on IMDb and not only is Badelt doing the music but Dion Beebe is doing the cinematography. That's two from Equilibrium... imdb.com/title/tt0430357/fullcredits

You would think that if they don't want to go to the trouble of releasing the EQ or UV soundtracks on actual CDs. they could at least make the music available on pay-per download. Sure there would be some abuse, but isn't there always? The same thing would happen if they released a CD. At what point do you stop obsessing about somebody somewhere might be reading, viewing, or listening to your product without you getting your dollar out of it, and simply bask in the fact that your work is in demand? (Especially someone who lives in Europe, which is the source of many thousands of bootleg CDs cheerfully exported to the US.)

When I think of all the naff soundtracks that do get released it really annoys me that something as good as the EQ soundtrack gets overlooked. Surely it would make more sense to release it officially rather than force people to seek it out by other means. We all know that there are tracks from the score available on Limewire for example.
