Ken Levine is a gaming god. This is the most moody, intense game I've played since... um... System Shock 2. Play it in the dark with the sound turned up and the lights turned down. If the rest of the game is as good as the demo we're talking game of the year. I heard it came out today, now I have to find a 24 hour store so I can grab it and keep going, I fly out tomorrow so I only have tonight to play.
Got the full version, found a 24 hour Wal-Mart. Started playing, next thing I knew the sun was coming up. Can't write a better review than that. Now I have to wait 3 weeks to get back home so I can continue the game... I gotta get a gaming laptop for the road...

It is dead sexy....I had the fortune of watching it first on a mates computer with better specs than mine & its absolutely gorgeous!
I think I need a new vid card already...its only been 7-8 months since I first got my 7600GT!

I'm running the same card.. 1024x768 with everything high except "actor detail" when I had that on high the frame rate would plummet if there were more than 2 enemies onscreen. Looks like a DX10 card is in my near future...

"Six times Two is Lemon..."
Heh...
Superb game. I'm reviewing this one for Games Xtreme...a sneak peek at the score: 9.5/10

Hm, I was kind of interested in the game, given the fact that it was sometimes called the spiritual successor of System Shock games. I even looked at the needed requirements. Just too bad my hardware doesn't meet it

Hiya MaWa! Nice to see you... The game is definitely the spiritual successor to SS and SS2. It just has that feel to it. I really wish there were more first person games like this, it strikes the perfect balance of role playing and action.

There's a reason I got my 360 Walldude, BioShock was one of those reasons!
Mass Effect is the other...and oh my God, Mass Effect is FANTASTIC even though I haven't had any hands on. I know plenty of people with my tastes in the industry and several of them have...lucky sods.

Just too bad my hardware doesn't meet it I just upgraded 6 months ago & Im getting low 20s in the frame rate department! Might have to get my hands on a cheap nVidia 8800GT, methinks...especially for Crysis which is just around the corner.

I saw Madden 2008 running on one in 1080p and it was pretty damn impressive..

I finished it on the weekend, got the bad ending because I harvested most of the Little Sisters. It got a little repetative in the enemy department towards the middle but when you finally meet Ryan....I really became very interested in the story. Also heres a great/funny review from ZeroPunctuation about Bioshock: www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/editorials/zeropunctuation/1394-Zero-Punctuation-BioShockHes obviously quite jaded/sarcastic towards everything but his "reviews" are very funny!

Yahtzee is a favourite reviewer of mine, and yeah, he's jaded alright.

Ya know.... I've yet to actually play this one..... I saw the demo, and then a friend brought in the 360 to work (Gotta love an office that allows consoles ;D ), I was damn impressed and I liked what I saw. I'm thinking about getting it in a few weeks (read as: after HALO3!!)
I'm glad the reviews here have been favorable towards the game. Nate

BioShock is a great game. I'm still playing it as well, superb stuff. Yahtzee is a good reviewer but he is way jaded.
