If anyone likes anime, there is a character in a new anime called Trinity Blood and he knows gun kata, in fact, one scene in the second episode of the series echoes the start of EQ where Preston is blasting all the sense offenders. But I thinks its safe to say that the creators liked Equilibrium.

I can't wait for it to come to the US but it has not picked up by anyone yet . Although I sure it just a matter of time. Its kinda like Trigun+Vampire Hunter D and Hellsing and some great gun poses and gun kata action by one of the main characters called Father Tres. His character as well as his style seem very inspired by EQ or HK gun movies. I'd post a pretty cool screen cap I have on my HD but I don't know how. www.wowow.co.jp/anime/toribla/ (The japan website) tracker.mahou.org/ (torrent site fansubs availible)

Yeah, I just got done watching the scene with Father Tres in the second episode and it was hardcore Equilibrium homage all the way, right down to the muzzle flash strobe effect and worms-eye view of the glowing barrels in the aftermath. You can download the episodes via. bittorrent through Isohunt

Ift hat was a resemblance of EQ (the second episode that is) you can rest asured that Father Tress is in fact a full copy of the Clerics in episode 10 ( or 9, cant remember) There is a part at the end where they are fighting a huge blooby creature, and there, Father Tress uses those almot trade mark wrist clip reloaders (you know the ones wich Cleric Preston uses to reload his guns, the two little extendible clip holders) and right after that, he uses the clasic Gun Kata initial attack, defence pose (one gun up and tilted 90 degrees, the other also tilted but below the belt for a lower defence) after that little take, you can be asured that Father Tress is directly inspired by EQ. Thaught it could be pointed here.

This anime kicks some major ass, and I thought Hellsing was the best vampire based anime out there...Trinity Blood pwns it. Gun-Kata, Vampire Killing action ftw!
