hey all. since coming back there's been a lot of heat between users in regards to what 'real' gun kata is. and that, in our own thread, we're so daft as to say what would work or not. in our own style no less. so i propose this. how about we have new threads? one would be general kata discussion - guns and other gimmicks omitted, pure technique discussed only. another for mine and trustkill's original development, and if there's already another hefty thread on someone else's development, that too. but i haven't seen one yet. all three would be stickied at the top so they don't get lost, and if any other schools of thought pop up that see considerable development/post counts could also be stickied. think of it as tribes, martial arts schools, even splinter factions of a church for all you hardcore EQ fans. it's just a thought.
opinions on this idea? if it's an idea everyone agrees on we could see if jenge would be up for it. post up.

Sounds like a constructive idea. I would like to see everbody working together on this, but I think that whatever works should be done. As long as we can move forward with the progress anyway. I could be wrong though. Let me know what you think.

we can but we can't. that's why i suggested a general thread and a specific "style" thread. style being whatever group's personal preference for what they think would work. i used to think only one would work but now, it's just as long as it goes anywhere it's better than this.

yeah Rymel, this is a good idea. a neutral thread where anything can be discussed, then those who are trying to create a gun kata can take what works for them and implement it to their own style.
ths is the only way to keep the idea of a gun kata fluid and without boundaries, as all martial arts should be in my opinion.

agreed. i would say why didn't i think of this sooner but the answer's pretty clear - at the time we made our original dedicated steps there weren't other modes of thought, just ours. so now that there is, let's go along with it.
