Well, I have been having some adventures on the Net since we started trying to promote Gun Sau. Two guys on an airsoft forum in England got really aggro and started swearing at me and my whole thread was deleted at a big martial arts forum becuase they said that gun Sau wasn't a martial art (I know, it isn't SUPPOSED to be a martial art, it's a game based on MA skills, just like Judo and kickboxing!) What is really weird is that about half the time people say "Cool idea, go for it" and the other half just laugh and are really rude. It's like there are only two kinds of people in the world Anyway I was having a tough time explaining what Gun Sau is on the martial arts forum so i wrote an essay about it, but they wouldn't publish the essay so can I publish it here? It's called "Inventing Gun Sau" and it's basically about what I have been doijg for the past couple of weeks. Thanks, GunFu

Sure...go ahead. I find what you are doing to be quite interesting. I can just see myself in the living room with the squirt guns blasting away. ;D
BTW, the net is full of people with massive egos & insecurities. I am constantly clashing with them. Reminds me of a quote from Devil's Advocate...
"You sharpen the human appetite to the point where it can split atoms with its desire; you build egos the size of cathedrals; fiber-optically connect the world to every eager impulse; grease even the dullest dreams with these dollar-green, gold-plated fantasies, until every human becomes an aspiring emperor, becomes his own God... and where can you go from there?"
...the internet in a nut shell.

Hey JenGe, thanks a lot! Most of the people who knock Gun Sau either haven't actaully read what I wrote about it, or have read it and don't understand it, or do understand it and then pretend that they don't to start a flame war BTW that was a great scene from Devil's advocate, and yeah it does sum up the InterNet ;D GunFu

GunFu I liked your idea for Gun Sau. It does seem to have a basis in martial arts...I dabble in it myself and it's obvious that you need skill in order to perform Gun Sau. Even if it means practicing what you've seen over and over from Preston & Duponts exchange until you get the hang of it. Parries, spins, blocks, if you aren't co-ordinated, those are very difficult manuevers and those moves are definately used allot in martial arts. I can't believe some people can't open their minds to new and different things. I'll read your essay Sasha

Hey Sasha, thanks for the support!
I just tried to post the essay but it's over 1000 characters long so it was rejected by the system. Is there another way I could do it without shortening the essay too much?

The internet as Jen says is full of people that delight in treading on our dreams. I fully support the development of new and interesting ways to challenge the mind, body and spirit - after all I'd be a total hypocrite if I didn't.
Just as long as you practise safety and so forth I have no problem with any new martial arts.
After all the martial arts themselves came from a need to adapt certain exercise moves for defence in the past.
Go for it GunFu!

Thnaks ClericWolf, I'm still doing promotions on the net .... the latest one was to some water-pistol combat websites, i never even knew that was a real sport but there you go.
I wish we coud get some more people on the Gun Sau forum though, we only have seven so far and we all live in differtn time zones so it's hard to keep up.

Just be patient. When I started this site there were only a handful of us. It took several months to grow into a "real" board. You also should get a few more sign ups early next month when I send out the site's newsletter. I'll be mentioning it then & I'm sure you'll pick up some more.

Also get your site on the search engines ASAP...you might already be logged since I have you linked at several pages on the site.

Yeah but in a way that is what worries me. I've been going hard out, I';ve posted on about twenty different Forums and we still only have seven people. Really I know what I need to do will be to get a good video online.

Like I stated...it took months before these board got built up and even now with over a 1000 members we still have our "slow" times. Don't judge your site by it's current state. Just keep working on it and adding content. The lack of competition out there will bring people eventually but it WILL take time.
