Hi, I'm new to the forums. I'm looking into what kind of response i would get by developing equipment specifically for gun kata. I am considering a laser tag system. probably 9mm pistols with chest and head sensors. The beam would be narrowed so that it would ba accurate for chest and head shots. There are also a lot of other details that i would ask this community what features you think are important. The system would be safer, better tailored, and affordable. let me know what you think.

HI Tunde! I'm pretty new too, but I think you're idea is worth a try...It sounds great ! I've always wanted to play laser tag and your equipment sounds like a kick butt game. I'd actually consider buying the Gun Kata game if it were affordable. I'd have too try it. Your new equipment has certainly peaked my interest. Boy, you can tell I'm a E-C 10 lovin sense offender. ;D Sasha

problem with laser tag is that the IR beams are too inaccurate. every laser tag set i have owned only has to be in the general vicinity of your target to score a hit.
-if you want to transplant stuff, i was fairly successful in transplanting laser challenge radar extreme chips into GUNCON 1 shells (you can find these old Playstation One guns at second hand gaming stores like GAMESTOP or BABBAGES or SOFTWARE ETC.) . the hardest part was having to dremel out some of the internal plastic inside the handle of the guncon to make the battery case fit. even after i was finished, if you ever needed to change batteries, youd have to take the halves of the gun apart. small price to pay for individual style on the playing field though.
-ps... dont get the guncon 2 shells, the orange ones, they look stupid. i used the original one that looks like the time crisis arcade gun. its much cooler and has a lot of space for you to fiddle around with stuff if you want, i.e. laser sites, tactical flashlights built in, cameral flash bulbs, shit like that.

or try just installing a regular laser pointer on a trigger related pressure switch. you will be able to tell visualy where the bullet would strike the moment the gun goes off.

problem with laser tag is that the IR beams are too inaccurate. every laser tag set i have owned only has to be in the general vicinity of your target to score a hit. In Gun Sau we use modified Lazertag guns and limited target areas. The trick is to narrow the beam and/or the sensor sensitivity. Mike
