Just had a good idea, what if we were using lazer guns? I mean the type they use in Lazertag games etc. You wear sensers attached to your clothes and the sensers go off when they are hit by a beam of light from the guns. No mess, you can play it anywhere.
What do you think?
BTW wwe now have a forum at the Gun Sau website to discuss this kind of thing too.

yeah but the thing is that you can only score by hitting specific targets and head shots wont register.

Yeah but I was thinking, all you need is to put a senser on a cap or a headband or something to simulate headshots. So you could probably just get a basic toy set and monkey with the target/senser.
Worth trying, anyway.

OK I read up on lazer guns and today we bought a LazerTag Team Ops system. Its probably way more high tech than we really need (heads-up display in the goggles, onboard computer - COOL ;D ) and we will have to modify the guns for Gun Sau training anyway, but it's Xmas so yay! I'll let you know how it works out.

Well these are definitley more high-tech than we need they have a range of about 600' or something which is kind of weird when you're only standing three feet away from the other guy. That means that the laser beams are pretty wide and the sensors are too sensitive for Gun Sau because we were getting hits when there was no way we would have been hit in real life. So now we have covered most of the lenses with black tape and just cut two little holes in the tape which narrows the beam down a lot and means you have to score a direct hit. It's a lot more realistic. the next thing we will probably do is turn off the Proximity Warning alert, which is a voice that warns you when you are within ten feet of the other player. We are ALWAYS within ten feet of each other so the voice gets kind of annoying. There are a whole bunch of features on these guns, it will probably take a couple of days to figure them all out.
