Has anyone noticed that during the fight scene where 'John Preston' is discovered with the dog in his trunk, he flips backward while moving forward (towards the targeted sweepers) and shooting out to the side?
My question: "Is this physically possible?"
Because it looks really cool, one of the most impressive moves I've seen in a long while in action movies.
Anyone know the answer?

Yes but it would be difficult Preston would have needed to exert more force than the force of inertia in order to reverse his movement. Thats a crap explanation but its the best I can do on short notice.

My question: "Is this physically possible?" Are you talking about this one... If so since this stunt was actually done in reality by a stunt double off of a "mini-tramp" I would have to say that it is physically possible to do. Here is what Wimmer stated about that scene... The Motorcycle Flip
No - no wires in that scene or anywhere else in the film. Christian's stunt double (Mike Smith) was a champion college diver from Texas. I asked him if he could do a lay-out gainer. He said yes, but it was a more difficult dive than I anticipated but, anyway, we put a mini-tramp right behind the motorcycle and he did the flip off that. The cut hides the transition and the fact that he's slightly further forward into the frame than he should be. - Kurt Wimmer, Site's Gun Kata Page
