Hi guys, I've not been on for ages, but here's some pics of my pair of sidearms (plus watch!) www.airsoftcommunity.co.uk/gallery2/thumbnails.php?album=1040You don't have to register to view them; just click a thumbnail and then click the picture again to get it full-size. The one with the close-up shots is my Area51 airsoft cleric made from a Western Arms Beretta and aircraft grade aluminium. The other is my own home-made version and is actually more like the screen-used props. The A51 gun is best for firing, since its highly accurate and has tuned internals, and the other one...doesn't fire at all! It did, once, but unlike the A51 gun was based on an old cheaper gun that was about to die when I converted it. The slide, switches and magazine are still mobile though, so its better than a resin prop. Even the non-firing more realistic one still lacks features like squared trigger guard, skeletonised hammer, fake selector switch and re-sited front sight. However, only certain prop versions had any or all of these features, and the only one I regret that neither has is the trigger guard, as all but one prop seen in the film has that squared shape (one of the 'lobby' guns has a normal Beretta guard).

Thanks:) On the metal one it was custom milled by Area51 airsoft, who only made a limited amount of these. On my own, I sculpted it from FIMO modelling material. The Area51 gun is for sale incidentally, but importing to the US might be difficult.

(taken with my cell phone cam) Well these are mine... Chinese airsoft knockoffs - spring powered Walther P99's, dressed up with under barrel laser sights and red dot thingys on top. Made of plastic but look like the real thing. My best friend's collection is somewhat more extensive: Upper left is a P90, like the one used by the sweepers guarding Preston's apartment. Below and to the right is a Walther P99 like mine, but with a flashlight on a side mount. To the right of that is a 1:1 scale .50 Desert Eagle. That thing is so big it makes even my large hands look like a child's. Oh and below them is a 1:1 scale M60...yep, a fully functional airsoft machine gun. Don't ask how much it cost. To the left of the previous pic is (I think - I might be wrong) a PSG sniper rifle - that's the one he uses for airsoft games. He also has a Beretta 92FS inside that closet, but I don't have a pic handy. Lot of other sidearms in there, all 1:1 scale cheap airsoft knockoffs that he painted up and kitted out to look like the real thing. His kids just love them One last look at the P90:

actually, those things are not all that cheap. They cost about 200$ each. The rifle on picture number 3 is not a PSG but a G3SG1.

Ah yes, sorry about that. He also has a PSG and I keep getting the two of them mixed up But they really are cheap - most of them are Chinese or Taiwanese make. The Desert Eagle, for instance, cost a little under US$10; I was with him when he bought it. Not a bad price - it has an integrated laser sight (also el cheapo quality, but good enough for a toy ) and a battery-powered moving slide. The P90 was selling for about US$15 iirc...I decided not to get one because of its poor range, though a coworker told me of someone who modded one with a better spring. I ended up buying the M4 carbine (same model as the one in pic #6). That one cost me under US$30 I think. The "real" airsoft guns - the expensive ones - are the two rifles and the M60, plus a couple of MP5 variants that aren't in the pics. Everything else is el cheapo, prettied up with fancy accessories but unusable in an actual game

Yes, well, it´s pretty hard to tell the difference from those pics. This is probably veeery off-topic, but if you want a really good gun replica you should get a RAM paintball M4A1 or MP5A4 replica. They have internal gas tanks and they´re fed from real mags, and shell ejecting (you put the paintballs into the shells, which you load into the mag.)
