It has come to my attention that the Gun Kata I developed is being seriously discussed as a true form or possibly a "new" style of martial arts. As a Sensei of many decades I must warn those of you invovled that the use of my Gun kata can have potentially dangerous consequences. The concept of the form was developed for the film not for actual use. Please be careful and remember that all forms of martial arts are defensive NOT offensive. If you have any further questions e-mail me at Jvicks007@aol.com

Welcome to the site & I 100% agree with your assessment of dangerous consequences if Gun Kata is taken too far (or too seriously) but to say that "all forms of martial arts are defensive NOT offensive" I must respectfully disagree. Even with my limited knowledge of the art form I know that aikido has no offensive moves but certainly others such as Hokushin Shinoh Ryu Iai-Do & Kendo (Shikake) do.
Please correct me if I have misunderstood something.

...& I 100% agree with your assessment of dangerous consequences if Gun Kata is taken too far (or too seriously)... To anyone who has worries like these, please do read the 'Purpose?' thread in this forum. In there we've tried to explain what we're doing here, and that noone should be afraid of getting anything but bruises from airsoft guns I'm not going to write it all again in here, since at this point it's really starting to get old, with super-sonic speed
