you mean the ones from the movie?
-i dont think that has been done. however, a couple of other members of the forum here (rymel, cleric wolf, cleric enemies) and i have another thread in which we are starting to develop our own version. check that out. there is some good stuff there.
-the thread name is "gun kata development" or something like that.

Ive worked with karate Kata's which are the same basic concept. I also can do Kata's with swords but guns are a whole other story because the dont fit in well with the karate kata's.

heyy it's back up! i tried 2 weeks ago and it was gone. yea i'm gonna work specifically on hand to hand gun kata, but we're all working on overall form(s). everyone's got something they know more about, so we thought it'd be a good idea to relegate tasks a bit. karate katas could work with a gun, just do them empty handed with a modified knife hand, or the "two fingers up" hand they use in chinese chi kung exercises. don't forget to change your hand movements accordingly, too. maybe instead of a normal punch you can change it to a straight punch to improvise aiming. palm strikes could still be used too. keep in mind also that single gun techniques in EQ were done with the empty hand chambered, so maybe you can improvise something out of that.

I know that people can improvise or change others kata. I train kung-fu, so it's no news to me , but I'm looking for film gun kata. I'd like to use it in exhibition gala. Anyway thanks for some threads.

which style kung fu? i took a bit of hung gar, and i'm really interest in wing chun, JKD and the animal styles. i guess i like the more core styles as opposed to say, wushu. i respect it, but don't see much combat application, other than maybe breakfalls. i'd REALLY like to meet someone experienced in krav maga though, as they have a combat-tested, constantly evolving style, and their gun defense tactics are second to none. sometimes i wonder if we should be intervening in middler eastern affairs at all...they're more or less the pinnacle of change right now, as awful as we might think it is.

I resently made up a Jiu-Jitsu kata its pretty bad ass...and i tested it out on 4 mother f*ckers that didnt know their place in society.

Fear not, lady and gent, those who disturb the atmosphere of the boards learn swiftly that JenGe has already mastered BoardKata.

martial artist huh? what happened to only to defense / self development attacking with it? come on I suppose if there was sufficient provocation, but even then, the wise martial artist makes use of the art to get /out/ of trouble by not being the one beating down on the opposition. Unless they truly, have no other way. Anyhoo, Trustkill said it quite well *GRIN*

Hi again! Yesterday I read all the 13 pages of that thread but I don't know why I couldn't post there.... well, anywayz I'm gonna write here... U guys have such great ideas, not only the traning ones but all the gun discussion, very interesting, I actually learn a few things! Some of U purpose the hypotesis of getting together to train some katas, That's an excelent idea! Unfortunately I'm so far away.... As almost all of U share with us the martial arts that love or pratice I'm gonna do the same lol so my heart belong to tradicional ones like Karate wich I practiced for years, then I practiced Kundo (similar to Kendo but it's a corean martial art) and now i'm in something a little diferent (live bring me to it...lol) KickBoxing! Like this I have a little pratice on sword katas and karate ones of course I hope that I can help in something like giving some ideas maybe!! hugs
