Well the chances of Equilibrium getting a sequel is just the same as Titanic getting one.

This one is a tough one...rightly it should be moved to the Freedom Reading Room right now but this board has been a bit slow lately so I think I may just allow it to linger for a few days & then move it.
It is nice to see the the Reading Room has made it easier to find all of those other threads. Great job guys!!

But Kurt Wimmer said he wouldn't do one, right? Well yes...but... Here is what he said... I would say it is one of those reflective comments more than a hard fact. Kinda like when Peter Jackson stated he had no interest in doing The Hobbit. Time, money, rest,...can change things though I would never hold my breath since I think EQ stands quite well on its own...but you never know...

It is nice to see the the Reading Room has made it easier to find all of those other threads. Great job guys!! You're welcome! The Freedom Reading Room was indeed a good idea, although at the beginning I had doubts if this board wasn't too similar in its purpose to the Archive board. JenGe, I have an idea about the repetetive threads. You might post something similar to "Read this before posting" - something called "Frequently discussed issues" or something like that and then name them. Then it will be far less likely, that someone new makes a 100'th thread about - for example - gun swap. What do you think?

Like I stated before though it is a bit refreshing having new threads started (sometimes!!) because those with over say 50 posts can be a tad intimidating & tedious to lug through. Also I don't really want one thread to become the "finally word" on a subject because new fans always bring an interesting new perspective. It's a difficult one to balance...

You might post something similar to "Read this before posting" - something called "Frequently discussed issues" or something like that and then name them. ... You mean another board?? Umm… I don’t know. I think when you have too many sections devoted to one subject, there’s quite big probability you may get lost much easier. This applies mostly to new people, who have just found this EQ realm and have no idea of what’s already been disused and what not. Then Jen has hands full moving all those repeating threads to various boards, just to keep the place nice and tidy. But unfortunately it all makes it feel a bit chaotic and makes my head spin sometimes I mean, reading all the topics is fun, but checking 5 or 6 boards takes a hell lot of time and I hardly have a time to do that I can only speak from my perspective, no idea what other fans think about it. But if it will serve its purpose in the future, then why not try at least Edit: Actually, looks like that separate board for UV could work, Jen

No. I mean a single thread which could work as an index. This way the new members who for various reasons don't want to dig through the entire board could easilly access the most discussed issues, make themselves familiar with the opinions of other users and post their own ones. This way we could avoid the problems such as Prometheus' thread about gun swap and the "that-was-discussed-1.000.000-times-before" flame wars. Don't get me wrong, this board is very, very friendly and flaming is a rarity here ( and I wish it stays like that as long as possible ). But sometimes I can understand the impatience of the older members... I think my idea will bring an advantage for both sides: 1. The new members will have easier access to the most discussed threads and their resources. 2. The older members won't have to answer for the 100th time the same question If the index isn't sufficient the new members may of course make a new thread - this is obviously not forbidden. JenGe, if you need, I can help you with searching the boards for repetetive threads. Just let me know.

Ah, a single thread which serves as an index instead of another board? That is an OK idea. If one thread could solve the “problem” with repetitions, then give it a try and see what happens. But on the other hand, I know people are lazy and most of them seek simple & quick answers for their dilemmas and, as Jen mentioned, long threads usually scare them off. Duh, I’m glad it’ s not up to me to decide ;D

OK, due to the fact that I am swamped with stuff to do for the site and that I honestly am not over concerned with this here is what I will do....turn it over to you. If someone wants to start an "Index" thread & then post all the related subject threads then I'll be more then happy to make it stick. I just do not really have the time to do it myself right now. At least not for a while...I'm too busy currently trying to get kewl stuff like this on the site... Original EQ Consept Art by Mark Bristol
