I know this information isn't out yet but if there is any rumours for an EQ 2, post it up here ASAP(of course it'll be posted . JenGe, I can rely on you because you're the EQ information master around here. LoL. By the way, I really like this guy Kurt Wimmer. His saying, "I love and have always loved and will always love action. Great action to me is better than food, better than sex, better than anything." That line really strikes me in the heart...in a good way. I can also relate to alot of his ideas in the movie. One of which are the Cleric's not wearing seatbelts in their vehicles. I love that idea. Hell, I'm 20 years old and still don't have my license so therefore I don't drive yet but when I go out with my family, they always nag me about wearing my seatbelt. I know it's a life saver but I hate putting that annoying thing on, even if it's that easy. But I guess it's kind of odd not having Cleric's wear seatbelts especially in the future. Perhaps the Prozium has something to do with that...maybe they are not aware of the consiquences of a car accident(they don't have the feeling). Ah screw it!....I love the idea! Kurt Wimmer is the man, right next to Jet Li! Nice necklace! I have one a little similar to that.

If there was an Eq 2 I wonder if it would work better as a prequel or a sequel? It would be interesting to see cleric Preston learning Gunkata and watching him become the ultimate badass that he is in Eq.

As said in another discussion, I think a prequel would be interesting and having read some fanfics I also think that a sequel could too!

I think the chances are slim but it could happen. I do believe that in time EQ will get a cult like following and find extreme success in the DVD market. It was marketed so badly its no wonder why it flopped. But now that its on DVD, people are gonna be able to see it at a friends house and be able to tell there friends who will tell there friends, who will tell there friend...and so on. Theres no other marketing thats stronger then word of mouth.
Once EQ makes a mark, i think it is possible that they may ask Wimmer for a sequel. But i dont think Wimmer would be up to that, unless they give him a big budget so he could make the film the way he orginatlly pictured it.

Not only is Wimmer a good director but he is an action junkie himself. He's one of us and understands exactly why we love the genre and feed off of it.

i don't think a sequel is coming, but i'm pleased beyond words that this movie was made.

Hey its great to have you here and that you found the film. The sad thing is that most people don't even know that it exists. Its our job to inform them.

I can't wait for Wimmer's next action flick.. In the commentary he mentions that he had an even bigger and better final action scene planned and it will appear in the next Wimmer movie.. I was foaming at the mouth.

Sorry to go a little off topic but I think it's because they weren't going anywhere in a hurry. Not because they couldn't be bothered.

If you listen to the second commentary its mentioned at the last minute that they spray painted the original katana they had all white so I'm not sure where you could buy one. I'll search and see if I can find anything.

I do hope there is a sequel but I hope Bale is in it so he can avoid having another of his movies ruined by a terrible sequel... see American Psycho 2.. actually stay as far away from it as you can.

If they made a worthy sequel, then that would be the best thing in the world. But ONLY if they made a sequel that beats the first movie, because sequels still don't live up to their predecessors. Like... in my opinion, the Evil Dead, X2, Highlander, and Robocop sequels, for example.

I think it would be very difficult to make a second EQ that would be as good as the first one.
Eq is not just a very good action movie, it's also highly psychological.
And we lived the emotions a lot(well, at least I did!).
I think that a second EQ would also have to be highly psycological.
I don't see how they could make a sequel because there is also something epic about this film. And the "evil ennemy" as already been destroyed.
But there might be something in a prequel. I don't see a prequel with Preston but something a little more in the past. I imagine the rise of Equilibrium. Their victory against human feelings. The first years of this new society after the war. All the brainwashing, well you're getting my point right?
But I don't think they would produce that kind of prequel because it would be a very hard movie, very difficult to watch. Eq is about liberation. The prequel I tought about would be the opposite. The whole movie would show the humans losing their freedom and the world becoming a great prison. Quite depressing...
And in that kind of movie, we cannot count on comic relief. It would destroy the whole film.
So I don't expect to see that kind of prequel but who knows...

Actually, I liked American Psycho 2. It wasn't as good as the original, but it was very entertaining still. As for an Equilibrium 2, I can't say I expect to see one no matter how large the following is. Doing a before or after will end up in a story far different from that of Equilibrium. Either a depressing story of defeat for the human race in the prequel where Preston is actually being the bad guy through the whole thing, or a story about the world returning to what it is today and probably mixing that in with the consequences of having emotions returning to the human race so quickly. I think I'd like to leave the Equilibrium legacy as it is today. This movie will go down in history as something great. The Matrix was going to do the same until they came out with that absolutely horrific Matrix 2. I sure wouldn't want to see Equilibrium go that way. I'd like to remember it as I do right now.
