Reposted from the Main Board----------------------------------------------- Since redundant & rhetorical subjects continue to clutter up the main board I have created a new section of the forum It has several purposes... 1. To keep the main board clear of subjects that have been repeatedly discussed by older members and are already covered on the site's FAQs Page2. So that new members can still discuss older topics & start threads about it without too much harassment. If these threads are posted on the main board I will move them here. 3. So that Gun Kata analysis & application can be discussed endlessly. (New Gun Kata Board created instead.)

Hi, Is there a way to write a EQ fanfic *without* ever having seen the movie first? I'd really like to write one, but just wondering if its been done before? If not, then this'll be the first EQ fanfic done in that manner.
Yours, Gypsiebelle

If not, then this'll be the first EQ fanfic done in that manner. Yours, Gypsiebelle Interesting question. You could, of course, write one--anybody can write anything--but it's hard to say how much interest it would generate if you're unable to bring the perspective of actual experience to it. That being said, NONE of my fan-fics mesh well with the movie. That's intentional. I am not interested in fan-fic in an enviroment like Star Trek, where you have to master all the facts and figures, and someone will come down on you like all three Eumenides because you spelled the name of some planet wrong, or had an ensign wearing a bo's'un's rank, or whatever. Of course, you could simply write something inspired by EQ, which is what I'm doing with "Nonstop Murder & Lust." And we have poets here who simply reflect lyrically on the dazzling brilliance of a moment ... drawn weapon, face sliding off, Cleric Cadillac gliding though the mist, etc. There are other people who do entirely non-EQ pieces. Those are welcome, too, though you might want to label them clearly as such, so people who are interested only in fan-fic don't mistake your piece for something it's not.
