Hello , I defenitely found this great site . I was looking for the best site of this movie unniverse and I'm in now .
I read some threads about the items , or something like that , the coats , etc . This is great.
I'm here for a special thing. I saw some threads about "THE" gun. What I want you to show me , if possible , it's some photos of that gun. I can't hide you that I am an airsoft player , like many of you I suppose .
I read that a site could build the gun , but I doubt ....
For the moment , still if it's possible , can you show me some photos (original ones) of that gun . Not by movy pics , but in real photography. Are there photos like that ?
I'll thank you if you could find it . I see that some forum signatures used some pics ofg the gun . But not enough to help me .

yep. I can build a mould of the gun , in resine , but I got to have great pics of the original gun.
Anyway , I don't think I can find it in the airsoft scene .... That will be great to sold it for airsoft gamers.
My goal is to writte a Role game , for airsoft playing.
I found the coat on a site , that's cool ....but now I miss the most important ....the gun ...

As far as I know the only "real" pictures of the Equilibrium gun are from the movie. Everything else are but replicas & knockoffs.

y'know, looking at it, it's just a barrel extension, isn't it? they don't make aftermarket combination barrel extension/barrel weights? is the fire selector on both sides of the gun? also, the safety seems kind of redundant...you wouldn't expect a cleric to deftly eject his guns out of his sleeves and then hit the safety, and i don't think they'd worry much about misfires or dropping it...just a thought.
oh yea since nobody's said it yet, it's just a beretta 92, airsoft springers run like 25 bucks i think? i'm getting a pair of gas blowback 92s from a friend soon. i think you should just try to make a mold of the extension and weight, unless that was what you were planning in the first place.

Yes, airsoft model makers have already made and sold sets of modified "Cleric Edition" Berettas.
MaloneXI, I understand your skepticism, but I assure you that this is a picture of the real gun. I know this for a fact.
As Rymel said, the gun is not something special created for the movie. It is merely an aluminum extension attached to a standard Beretta. Although, I don't believe it's a 92. I know a lot of people said that, but in one of the countless other gun threads, someone found an even closer match.
A 3-D model of the Beretta is being built in incredibly high detail by an expert weapon modeler for an Equilibrium modification that I lead. Perhaps (if you choose to trust our accuracy :-)) I can send you a copy of this model when it is finished. Then, you will be able to view it from all angles.
I hope you find the graphic helpful as it is the most detailed picture available.

i've only read a few of those threads. wasn't it still a beretta though? even still, a 92 is close enough. the reason i ask what kind of extension it is is cuz it's molded to the bottom, and was wondering if i could get the extension WITH that or was that just done for the movie...and could you link me to the cleric edition airsoft? i'd like to see that model when you're done too

this is my personal explanation about the gun. Defenitly not the movie's gun. guilde.malone.free.fr/Explaination.jpg or the link , if the picture does'nt appear quickely . (I apologize for the side , if it's forbidden , say it)

Just question,
One of your reasons for denouncing the photo is that the front most sight is not angular enough or too angular. Yet, the pictures from the film that you are comparing it to are not consistent. Sure, one of them shows the sight being farther forward; but the next two photos show the gun with no forward sight at all.
Secondly, as for the issue of the fire rate selector being on the wrong side, this is very easy to clear up. In the film, Clerics carry a pair of pistols. And, on several occasions, we see Preston change the fire rate with his thumb. Therefore, it is only logical that the gun would be reflections of each other. That way, the Cleric could easily select the rate of fire on either gun in the same way.
MaloneXI, perhaps you don't know this, but there were two versions of the gun. The first was a very lightweight plastic mockup that was used for close-ups. Alternately, the studio also had real Berettas modified to look like the mockup but be able to fire for the action shots. The two have slight, slight differences. However, they are essentially the same gun. This picture is a close-up photograph of the modified Beretta.

Myeah.
So this gun is not the one that I'm wanting to reproduce.
For me , this one is a simple make-up of a 92F. Not the one that I want . But thanks for the answear ^^
You're maybe right . I didn't know there was a second version of the gun.

so considering your extensive knowledge on berettas, what do you suggest using, gun base and modifications wise? i'd be interested in what you have to suggest.

LEv , a gun modder , told me he started from the 92 F model . Like other mod I saw on the net . All the mods that I saw on area 51 , an airsoft site , had the same "design line" : Like this one . In my opinion , that's the best. Look the top of the breech. He keeps the line of the 92F's canon's end. That's the best choice . As we can see , the line is perfect . Just one thing . under the canon , the part that forms the design addition , must be less large than the canon. It would draw a bar all over the sides of the gun . In my opinion it's too smooth . Not like the original. But this gun is the best I saw for the moment. Hope he will commercialize it soon

Ok guys, hope I can help here. The above gun was made as a special extra-long version by about an inch. The others that were sold were the actual movie length. However, they lack the foresight, the modified trigger gaurd, and a couple of minor points. Malone; the hammers were definitely different on different movie guns. Some use the original hammer, some use the Vertec match shooting version. As for that first pic Pentagrammaton, I'm sorry, but that is not an actual prop. It is indeed photoshopped. The underside of the barrel shroud where it meets the body of the gun is totally different, and as this chap pointed out, the fire selector is clearly an addition in pshop, as is the trigger guard. The 'lines' of the movie guns are indeed very clean, running from slide to muzzle wieght without interruption (in other words you shouldn't be able to see the 'scoops' of the donor guns slide at the front. Also look at the muzzle; it has a kind of 'nut' where the real thing is again uninterrupted. I've seen this nut on an airsoft gun, one of the Western Arms berettas, so it's my strong belief this was pshopped from a shot of this gun. This isn't the shot itself, but it shows the 'nut' I'm talking about. www.nipponhobbies.com/airsoft/wa_M92CompStd.htmNot wishing to try and shoot anyone down, but I am a pedant Edit; to explain the post above, he's talking about the 'scoops' I mention that you see on normal Berettas, the chamfered (sp?) slide front. This is *not* visible on any EQ beretta, and is a key design point. The replica he posted has the true lines of the movie gun. As I say, the one in the pic was a special extended one, owned by Lev, but he did *not* create it. It was made by DeeDee, who has posted on here before. I'm afraid less than 50 of the EQ guns were made Finally, whether you use the F or FS as a base makes very little difference.

Nice , I knew it was a photoshoped pictu. I do some photo modifications too because it's my job tool.
It was stange , I detected spome anomalies , only doable with this software.
Great explanation jonF. I hope the maker of the model will commercialize his gun for a large public. It'd be great for us .
-yeaaahhh , I was right about the picture-

Now now, no need for gloatage. I'm sure there was good reason to believe the source of the photo was reliable.
I'm afraid Area51 have catagorically stated to myself and others that no more guns will be produced, as they took a lot of engineering and resources. However, by saturday I should have the production drawings for them. Bearing in mind these were designed in liaison with the production company, they could prove a valuable resource for prop/airsoft builders. I'll keep you updated.

so if you remove the design line and the entire top was molded..i'm assuming the entire thing slides? does it really make a difference if the line is there at all?

Yes, the line is essential as it defines the mobile portion of the gun whilst keeping a smooth side to the gun. Only the original slide portion of the gun slides. The muzzle weight/barrel shroud section stays put, along with the extended barrel inside; you can see from the wallpaper screengrabs of the lobby reload shots how it works. The effect is that of the Desert Eagle, which also has only the rear portion mobile.
