This was asked by Chris in the guestbook and I thought I would move it here...

Hmm, that could describe a scene that was indeed in the UK version. Chris'd have to be more specific about what the scene contained for this poor old fellow to answer though.

I SERIOUSLY don't think that they would take out the "Not without incident scene" because that puts the entire storyline together by telling Preston about Father's plan and everything.. If that's the scene you're talking about.. beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep..... oh shit.

Its the scene where for a brief moment it looks like John has turned the tables on his partner, when he is being questioned towards the end? Its definately not in the UK version.

Are you talking about the riddle part? "How do you get a gun from a Grammaton Cleric?"
Is that the missing section or a different one?

Its not the riddle - how do you get a gun etc.... I saw the film on a vcd copy a few months ago and the scene was there - its when John alomost makes out that he has been doing the things he has on purpose.......someone out there must have noticed as well!!! Problem is, if you've not seen the film on VCD from the USA you won't notice when you see it at the cinema in the UK. Help!

Yes Chris, please be more specific. There's no reason you can't tell us what happens/what is said in the scene. Just add a few spoiler tags: **SPOILER** **SPOILER** **SPOILER** **SPOILER** In the UK version there was a scene where Preston turns the tables on his partner, the "gun switch" scene where he appears to convince DuPont that Brandt is the real sense offender and that Brandt has been killing the sweeper teams, not Preston. Brandt is taken away during this scene with the emotional cry "I'm not feeling! He's the one who's feeling!" That one cracks me up every time. ;D That's the most likely scene that your description applies to, so if that's not it either, please describe the scene you're referring to in detail so that we in the UK can answer your question properly.

I like the little wink and ever so slight grin that Preston gives Brandt in that scene.

I went to see it a couple of weeks ago and i distinctly remember laughing at Brandt showing the emotion when he got carried away. there's no way that bit was cut out of the UK version. You must have fallen asleep!!

Hmm, I wonder why they would cut it out in Manchester... I'm in London and I went to see the picture twice, that scene was in there both times.
You'd better go see the film again at a different cinema, Chris, I'm sure it was just an isolated incident. ;D

How very strange...theres no way I fell asleep, I swear on my life that the scene wasn't in the version I saw in Manchester, because at the time I was really angry about it as its such a good scene, but it seems I must have been watching a freak one! Thanks anyway!

Ahh - may have the answer to your question here. Sometimes - a few people noticed a similar thing with Lord of The Rings: The Two Towers - where it seemed as though a tiny section of a scene was missing - the person who changes the reel of film that's playing can get a bit gung ho and change the reel too quickly and it'll slice off bits of scenes. I don't know too much about it - but i guess how soon you change the reel depends on how much you miss out. Hope that clears things up! Spike
