Just wanted to say Sus that I enjoyed you're fan fic. It's such a different view of the world of Equilibrium but yet a neccessary one and you did it quite nicely. Good job!!

Imagine my shock, seeing a thread with my name on it! ;D Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it! It was up at FanFiction.net where it has had...one review, so I'm happy I could put it somewhere EQ fans would get to see it. (Thanks to JenGe for adding it to this fantastic site!) Feedback is always appreciated.

Kurt Wimmer, talking about the institution of marriage in EQ: " So, yes, birth is in vitro..." Ah crap, that buggers up some of my fic... Lets just pretend I knew what I was talking about, kay?

I thought about saying something but I didn't want to spoil your story.

I agree there was some things in my fan fic that I wasn't sure about either but I stuck with what I knew from the movie since that is what I based it on....not the what ifs or ideas Kurt had for his world in general..

Sus, I loved your fan fic, and your preferred view on the family life.
If the the children come from in-vitro, why raise them in families? That's always been a hole in the story for me. Why have family units at all?

Good question.. Perhaps the Government wants to keep the populace controlled and together as to monitor groups instead of individuals?

Great short story, Sus.
This conversation made me think of something I was familiar with in the early 80's, late 70's. Back then, there were quite a lot of religous cults. One in particular, The Way International, used to practice control by making several people live together in an apartment. They had one person who was a father figure who had special training and kept tabs on everyone else. Maybe the future family units are set up the same way. You can't really have people living alone, who knows what they'll get up to, so families are made up, or forced together and told how to act.
I like your version of sex better than the in-vitro thing anyway, and I think your idea is plausible as much as the test tube baby thing is for the real movie. If you're going to make a movie about a man discovering his emotions, you gotta have some jelly to put on that toast to make it sweeter. ;D
